UPP 2 Demo – Use Case 5: Rome, NY
Показать описание
This use case utilizes the same operations NYUASTS used in previous use cases, with the addition of drone flights for recreation, food delivery, and medical delivery.
In part one of this scenario, a drone delivers pizza US and Canadian border patrol personnel who are about to begin a softball game. Danny, a recreational pilot, flies over the crowd as the game starts. The local sheriff’s department notices the flights over people and an FBI official steps in to help retrieve information. The FBI official conducts a correlation query to learn that Danny does not have a waiver to fly over people. The officials then contact Danny directly.
In part two, a softball player fractures his arm. A medical delivery drone is requested. The operator of the medical drone initiates a UVR to clear the way for the BVLOS medical delivery. Other drones adjust their flight paths as necessary, and law enforcement uses a prototype remote ID capability to verify the inbound drone is the medical delivery that was requested. Later, a nature enthusiast contacts environmental authorities to report her concerns about the proximity of drones to protected bird habitats. The environmental authorities initiate a historical query with the FAA. The historical query does not return contact information, but the authorities are able to determine the drones were flying far enough away from bird habitats, minimizing impact on wildlife.
