Who is Ron Spomer
For 44 years, I’ve had the good fortune to photograph and write about my passion – the outdoor life. Wild creatures and wild places have always stirred me – from the first flushing pheasant that frightened me out of my socks in grandpa’s cornfield to the last whitetail that dismissed me with a wag of its tail. In my attempts to connect with this natural wonder, become an integral part of our ecosystem, and capture a bit of its mystery, I’ve photographed, hiked, hunted, birded, and fished across much of this planet. I've seen the beauty that everyone should see and survived adventures that everyone should experience. I may not have climbed the highest mountains, canoed the wildest rivers, caught the largest fish, or shot the biggest bucks, but I’ve tried. Perhaps you have, too. And that’s the essential thing. Being out there, an active participant in our outdoor world.

I think this could be the most successful of the 3 if they can meet the demand for the non reloaders.

He's got workin man hands. My dad's hands are kinda like that. I work with my hands but I wear gloves so idk..we'll see when I'm 60-70 if I have hands like that I can be proud of

This cartridge is for those who do not reload and want a very accurate factory round with great performance. If it's like the other PRCs it should be a pretty good round with the .284 caliber it will cut the wind and have great penetration with a monolithic round. I would think it would make a good Hog, Deer, Elk, and Moose 🫎 round. We will have to wait and see what manufacturers load for the caliber. I believe it will be a good choice for an all around cartridge that can also take the big game if you're able to hunt it in your area. If I didn't have a 7mm Remington Magnum, 30/06, 300 Win Magnum or similar I would definitely take a long look at it. It might be a keeper in the years to come.

Good for target shooting, not hunting. I don't want a match chamber in a rifle going into the field. There's a difference for a reason, tiny amounts of dirt, grime, carbon etc. can prevent a round from chambering in a super tight match chamber, and the accuracy increase isn't going to be necessary for of hunters. It also means bullet specs gotta be super tight. Should have some great factory ammo, but expensive.

When you fire a case and then handload it only resizing the neck as little as you need to place the bullet you are doing almost the same thing. The only problem is then cases fired from that rifle may only fit that rifle. I have two 30-06s Cases fired in one rifle and neck resized will work in both rifles but the ones fired in the other will only fit it.

So is the PRC going to be as picky about loads and brands of cartridge as the 7mm rem mag? I've got a a 700 Remington Bdl and it is picky on loads ! It loves the 175 grain Remington core locks! Was told bullets have very little tolerance seating into barrel because of belted cartridge?

If it's in production guns you have a tight chamber, a match grade chamber is a different animal. Also, any reloader can fire form his brass and neck size any gun and have a tight chamber, so pretty much a waist of money for a competent reloader.

Awesome! What is the overall cartridge length? How will it be on barrel life with a typical load? What range does Hornady's Hits suggest are the limit for elk? How about for deer?

Whatever happened to case-less ammunition, Lazer Ray Guns, ... etc. This same-old-same is getting tiresome. Everything is compared to .30-06 & .270; it's only over 100 year technology.

im not a gambler... I'm going to stay with the one that has already tested and proven...7 mm Remington

What are they paying you to spew these false facts. It's just a longer throat and faster twist to stabilize these high BC bullets in the PRC. Sammi is Sammi there is no "supper sammi" .... stop with the marketing garbage. Rebarrel a 7mm rem magnum to handle these high BC bullets and have a faster flatter cartridge....

Parent case? Are all PRCs similar? How do they compare to all their competitors? Ron, back to basics-who, what, why, where, when, and how. All the rest is fluff.
