Glad I found this video. I was going to pull the trigger on one but I’m going to put my money towards a zv-e10 with sigma 16mm 1.4f I’m mainly shooting video at home for YouTube videos.
But would love high quality pictures too. Is this a wise choice?

Also if you notice the dynamic range..the sky is blown out it’s really distracting.They want you to use the “catalyst browser” for the better stabilisation, but that requires time and more effort from your part.The jello effect is absolutely disgusting every time you want to make a quick turn(vlogging canera?).Also here in Germany you can find it 650€ (not 500€), you can get a second hand zv1 around 450€…but the worst thing for me is the lack of shooting in Raw, otherwise it would be great for street photography..but really it’s kinda trash 🗑!

I am so .. No Go with this camera!! The only camera that i will buy to use instead of a phone should be : compact, with a great stabilization (preferably ibis) and 10bit color. IF its fixed lens then should be with decent focal length (better than rx100vii), If it is apsc then it should be with a decent stabilization (Ibis). Or else i will keep using my mobile phone (that nowadays have great cameras) and my action cam (that nowadays have 10bit colorm great stabilization and high fps for slo-mo plus durability).

I agree with you and Sony makes one-inch sensor phones better than that camera. Based on what I watch so far I wouldn't recommend it.

The contrast base auto focus is the nail to the coffin. I can see so many pausing from the footage and it is so distracting. Why would I get a Sony camera at this price point if I get this autofocus system? The G100 is cheaper and has a bigger sensor

Why Sony removed this new model, the effective stabilization of the Zv-1 and why it removed phase detection, opting only for contrast detection, and finally, why Sony betting on a 20mm fixed lens, got worse your aperture, from f/1.8 that the Zv-1 had to f/2 this Zv-1 F ? Why didn't they set an aperture of f/1.4 since it's now a fixed focal length?

1st, if people want to take videos while seeing themselves, they'd need a selfie cam, but this is better than that.

2nd, this would be a video dedicated device so they could store the data on the camera rather than on the phone

3rd, because it's focused on only the camera, it'd slow you down less

4th, its cheaper than the better version

5th, you'd rather drop a camera than a phone that you'd need for more than just camera stuff....

I might be using this camera more than a phone. In the future, I will travel to some 3rd world countries and snatch theft problems (god forbid) might happen anywhere while vlogging on the street. Losing a $1200 phone is much worst than losing a $500 camera. (Also, it will be more complicated if losing a phone in terms of vaccine cert to productivity apps). About the 1F, I personally prefer a spec with a zoom lens. Sony should build a lens range of 20-70mm or 20-50mm. Or just release a new RX0 with autofocus, a 1-inch sensor and good stabilization for a fixed lens type camera.
