The background defocus of the Sony is actually completely different from the iPhones portrait mode. Portrait mode is done on software while the background defocus is a real bokeh from the lens and will look much more natural. It's basically just forcing f2.0 if enabled and can be used on any camera in a similar way.

I've been using this for on the go vlogging and love it! It's much better quality than my iPhone 14 Pro and might lighter than my sony a7iv and sony 20mm 1.8 G lens :)

Important distinction, for those shopping these days when the newer iPhones have 48MP sensors - Sensor resolution does not equate to resolved detail. The most a cellphone camera can conceivable resolve is around 20MP, any higher, it's just wasted pixels. The only area it helps is digital zoom where the lack of aliasing helps to extract more detail from a small area of the sensor. Still not a crazy high resolution like it claims to be, but it's better than a straight crop. Dedicated cameras like the ZV1F often have lenses capable of resolving atleast the sensor resolution, possibly more depending on how over engineered it is.

Thank you for good review. I wanted a camera as webcam and content creation mainly indoor. Should I go for ZV 1F or ZV E10 or wait for new upgraded version of ZV E10 may be with full touch interface.

Got one for 400. (Open box) Just go to a store where they sell them and ask if they have open box ones. Added a 2 year warranty for $40.

My only knock against this phone is them removing the side inserts for a neck strap. I want a basic camera at a low price but the lack of neck band ability is making me consider the E10.
