Sony ZV1F: Smartphone Creators, It's Time to Upgrade!

Jake tests out the new Sony ZV1F, a pocket-sized camera for those who want to upgrade from their smartphone, but aren't quite ready for the ZV1. This new vlogging camera carries over many features from the ZV-1, like the Face Priority Auto Exposure, Directional 3 Capsule mic, Active Stabilization Mode, Eye Autofocus, and a background Defocus button. Plus, there is now a touch screen, wider angle 20mm lens, a max f/2 aperture, Shot Mark feature and more!

4k introduces a crop and so does the stabilization mode, would’ve wanted that 20mm at least at 4k video

DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!!! It is not an upgrade if you already have a modern smartphone. If vlogging is your main priority and you want to upgrade from a smartphone, then I'd recommend the GoPro 11 or DJI Osmo Action 3. If your priority is shooting talking head videos and/or general filmmaking then I'd recommend the Canon EOS M50 Mark II or the Sony ZV-E10.

The dji pockets stabilization is unmatched, it may be the best ever honestly, as their dynamic range continue to improve it may become the biggest threat to all cameras witg how versatile they are, place them on tripods and control them from your seat

Did they get rid of the HFR? So they took away some features but added features that would’ve made the ZV-1 better? 🤦🏽‍♂️ I guess I’ll still keep my ZV-1 and wait for a ZV-2

Is it just me, or does this camera have no significant zoom capability? I had a compact Canon PowerShot that had a x40 zoom. I love everything else about this camera but if I can't get a decent zoom, it's essentially useless to me. Does anyone have any comments/suggestions?

Do you think the auto focus is good for someone who want to video stream building model kits? I'd like to have an overhead view where i can also pick up small pieces and bring it closer to lens so viewers can see the details on the pieces. Would this camera be good choice?

We all know iPhone cameras are good, but here ZV-1F competes with the front-facing camera on the iPhone, not the good rear ones.

I wish they hadn't stopped production on the X3000 action cam. So many IRL streamers use this cam and are desperate for a new small form factor camera with optical image stabilisation.
