If you look at the Scriptures holistically rather than prooftexting or isolating entire books (i.e. pitting Scripture against Scripture), sola fide is entirely indefensible.

1:22:38 the question asked is "where does scripture speak of obedience imputed to us"
Ezekiel 36 tells us of the promise.

One aspect I am not understanding about the reformed position is... if I am 'snow covered dung', or a person who remains a sinner, how is it that I have really been forgiven. On the other hand, if I do get truly forgiven, but still sin regularly, then repeated confession (like the Catholic system), makes some sense.

“faith alone in Jesus Christ is sufficient for our justification and liberation “

But what is the law of faith?' It is, being saved by grace. Here he shows God's power, in that He has not only saved, but has even justified, and led them to boasting, and this too without needing works, but looking for faith only

This is perfect and pure boasting in God,
when one is not proud on account of his own righteousness but knows that he is indeed unworthy of the true righteousness and is justified solely by faith in Christ

"Because faith alone justifies ... publicans and prostitutes will be first in the kingdom of heaven"

1:07:00 I think tureentin should read romans 6-7 again since the old man which we were was living death into a dead law which was spiritual now man in Christ or Christ in man is now righteous since we have righteousness by grace and nature.

I think most must be fair and admit this isnt easy, and that one MIGHT be wrong. Ans this to me is the strongest argument against Protestantism. You might be wrong about Justification, presence, icons, saints, specifics of Trinity etc etc... So instead of God expecting us to decipher every issue infallibly, wouldnt it make more sense He would bestow upon us a Church filled with the Holy Spirit that would not succumb to Haddees?

God doesn't want your filthy freaking rags of works. He wants YOU! He wants your heart! He wants a relationship with YOU! This is what separates the Abrahamic God, from all other false gods. He is a personal God, that desires a relationship! Jesus didn't sacrifice himself so you could use the Holy Spirit to do righteous works. What does God need that for? He wants a repentant heart that Loves him and to follow him. The Cross is a CONNECTION back to God through Christ.

The Father wants your Love! That is all God ever wanted!

I think nothing was accomplished in this debate. I think the Easternist's position is proved only through one thousand qualifications. How complicated to know whether man has merit in his own salvation or not.

Well certainly a lot of cognitive dissonance on display here.
The problem with salvation by faith alone is that it becomes totally irrelevant how one lives there life, all that is needed is belief and repentance.
So by that theology the Preist who r*pes a child gets to watch their victim being subject to extreme eternal violence, because that child, so traumatised, lost their faith and as an adult took their own life.
If salvation is by works, it again becomes irrelevant how one lives their life, because all have sinned and all have fallen short. So by that theology all are condemned and a belief in the god that is going to condemn us becomes irrelevant.
The problem with a combination of grace and works is that all sins are equal and a transgression against one is the same as a transgression against all. So in this theology god judges who he will save, without giving his children any guidance on which repented sins will be forgiven and which repented sins will still result in extreme eternal violence.
It's a mess and these gentlemen didn't come remotely close to resolving it.

The bottom line is that any works added to our salvation is a false gospel.

Yeshua never taught faith alone and neither does the rest of the bible, except for Paul, so if he taught contrary to Yeshua and the rest of the bible he fails the Deuteronomy 13 test FALSE PROPHET, FALSE APOSTLE
