One of my favorite things to do in a level is to add a checkpoint room. A little room for a moment of peace between the action. Those rooms are always fun to decorate. (I've even added a few Easter Eggs in some of my CP rooms using decorations).

It actually hurts how underrated your channel is. You have the perfect structure for your videos: Perfect amount of enthusiasm, a sprinkle of humor in the not so exciting bits, straight to the point, easy to follow guides and overall GREAT video ideas. I'm sad that I haven't stumbled upon this channel earlier... Keep up the AMAZING work, and I hope you'll reach your goals for this channel :)

I'll throw one more tip in there: Stacking two bridges on top of each other gives the bridges a much grander feel than if there was only one.

Anything in Super Mario Maker 2: *exists*
Arrowstole: NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE USE THIS AS DECORATION

Tip: I personally prefer if you are hanging a bridge from tracks, you attatch the tracks to the top tile, with the little fence, then the bottom tile. Only in the SMW style, with the log-bridges, you can attatch the bottom tile.

What decorations do you like to use?

Very good video. Semisolids and scroll stopping are the big ones I recommend to every new maker. Semisolids are so useful as backgrounds, ground, and ceiling decorations and scroll stopping makes levels feel so much more cohesive like actual Nintendo made levels.

5:16 'Vines probably wouldn't be growing out of lava'

I'm currently planning on making a course that's an overgrown castle & a frozen mine. It's hot or cold (obviously) and the main element is Munchers.

3:07 You can also add roses of doom by adding spike traps to vines

Just wanted to let you know that even if my course is ugly, you aren’t

Back to ground decoration:

You need to keep in mind that there are “natural” and “manmade” themes.
The natural themes are ground, underground, underwater, desert, snow, forest, and sky.
The manmade themes are castle, airship, and ghost house.

If something is natural, then that means that it’s more “random” and less “straight”. This means that ground decorations as well as things such as pebbles in underground tiles, starfish in underwater tiles, or fossils in desert tiles can be placed randomly and look proper.
However, with manmade themes, it’s the exact opposite. Things such as statues and railings need to be placed in a meticulous manner so as to give that location a “structured” feeling.
Things such as cracks in ghost house tiles can be randomly placed, but you know what must not ever be placed randomly under any circumstance?
*AIRSHIP WINDOWS*
It really bothers me to see a bunch of sporadically placed windows in courses. If a ship maker were to do that in real life, they’d probably get fired or ridiculed on something like r/crappydesign. Consequently, you need to place your airship windows in a consistent manner. I’d suggest rows of them 1 tile wide gaps in between each window. Be sure to keep these on the same X-axis, unless you want a zigzag or stacked window design.

Thanks for the advice. I'm making a special world map for my 3.0 update and this helped me a lot.

I like putting semisolids behind donut blocks and other floating blocks to make it look bolted on

A personal rule I like to follow when making courses:

Underground, Ghost House, and Castle courses
are indoors, so generally they should have ceilings.
Ground, Snow, Desert, Forest, Sky, and Airship courses are outdoors, so generally they should NOT have ceilings.
Underwater courses can have either.
