720p vs 1080i (Whats the Difference?)

Here is a short quality test where I tried to see what the major difference between 1080i and 720p is and to figure out which one is better quality! So in my opinion 1080i actually has less noise in the dark ares and appears ot be slightly better quality! But its a very very small difference!

Yeah! I know what your saying! I did a motion test but have yet to edit it! Haha! I have been shooting progressive for over 5 years now! But in low movement shots I think I may shoot interlaced! Not really sure yet.

the "i" in 1080i stands for "interlaced" which means they show you two frames at the same time, in alternating rows (aka all the even rows in are showing for one frame whereas all the odd are from a different frame). In low-movement shots like this, the "i" vs "p" isn't going to be very visible. Try doing the tests with higher-motion, and the interlacing will be much more visible. I generally prefer progressive, because it makes fast-action footage much more viewable.
