Stellar Blade, Black Myth, and Space Marines are on the media blacklist.

It won the most important award, making a ton of money and keeping the lights on at Game Science which allows them to make more games.

funny
Black Myth Wukong: gets criticism for something that doesn't have to do with the game.
Dragon age the veilguard: gets praise for something that doesn't have to do with the game.

Bruh if Dragon age Failguard and Game of the Year are even in the same sentence, I’ve lost all hope.

Something tells me that ''Dragon age: The veilguard'' is gonna get a ton of nominations. And we all know why.

Wukong didn't buy into the consultancy protection racket, so access media was sent to break their knees.

If Black Myth Wukong gets snubbed and Dragon Age Velguard gets nominated, then the game awards needs to be dismantled.

"the reason why black myth wukong was not nominated is because its been a really competitive year for games"
the gaslighting is getting so out of hand

It isn’t the game awards if the games journos are the only ones deciding the vote at that point it’s the games journalist awards. Bring power back to the players.

One of the most important things too is that Wukong actually worked on release. There were a few issues for sure, but compared to most half baked games that won’t let you get past the menu screen at launch, it’s night and day.

Calling Wukong anti-woke shows an agenda already. The game isnt "anto-woke", its just not woke.

Its not attacking that viewpoint, its just ignoring it.

The real reason is that they don't want to admit a Chinese Game with an older gaming philosophy is more successful than the western method of dlc and micro transactions.

The writer basically is saying chinese gamers are less valuable, he is being openly racist and people are not talking about this, he ahould be pointed as that.

This game was excelent. Space marine as well. Love both. But wukong is just epic. Masterfully done in design, music, style, visuals. The end of chapter animations, so beautiful. Over 100 bosses and even more normal enemies. Incredible setpieces. Small budget done by a small team and it was their first big game. I had ONE soft crash in 150 hours of play and no bugs whatsoever. This deserves goty.

If Dragon Age gets even a nomination, you know its rigged af.

"Onesided culture war" as if games media hasn't been writing articles about how "gamers are dead" and "gamers don't have to be your audience".

Wukong is my GOTY and I'm not done telling everyone about it.

If that game wasnt developed in China, it would have been nominated.
Western media is a joke.

We didn't turn it into a culture war thing, the journalist did. Not once did I look at Wukong's success and say... "yeah, take that woke losers." Journalist DID attack the credibility of the developers through mistranslated quotes and unconfirmed sources, then never retracted their false statements. Journalists took points off their reviews because they didn't think the game about anthropomorphic monkeys had enough diversity.

And here we are, yet again... with journalists blaming everyone but themselves for this situation.

Wukong doesn't get a lot of recognition, but I feel like plenty of Asian games don't in general. This year, both Trails Through Daybreak and Ys X released, both fantastic games, yet they're getting ignored. In years past, games such as Tales of Arise and Fate/Samurai Remnant were treated as if they don't exist. The real kicker is that these games are more interesting than some, if not most, of the stuff Western devs put out
