From someone near his death "You go on and live as best as you can."

I had a health scare that gave me a glimpse of what it would feel like to know that death was around the corner. In those few days all I wanted to do was be with my wife and kids. Everything turned out well, but it changed me forever. I've turned down promotions because it would mean less family time which is crazy for me since I used to be a workaholic. I have to say I'm about 10 times happier both at work and home now, that health scare was a blessing in disguise

Life ends quicker than we think we do. All those memes saying we went from 1st to 25th of the month in 2 hours make a lot of sense. Live life as fully as you possibly can and trust God to protect you in the bad times. Bless up

We often neglect this sad day will come until it befalls us. Finding yourself next to a dying person or loved one is never a fun place to be. In my case, it was my late Dad. I felt helpless and found myself repeating the exact words as he was slowly gasping for air. I wish I had the power to revive him or change this scenario. Thank you, ALUX!

#5:

Perhaps those on their deathbed have lamented over spending excessive time with their phones — but honestly, for the vast, VASTTT majority of those "on their death beds, " their phones (or at least for the majority of their lives this was so) were merely the now almost obsolete archaic rudimentary communication tool — even for so many "deathbeders" that was a WIRED phone. So, relating that statement to modern the technological achievement of what we call "smartphones" seems an oversight, Alux.

Moreover, as Jason Silva has "famously" contrived, "our modern phones are an extension of our consciousness seeking expression in the world around us." Much like rudimentary cutting & harvesting tools were/are extensions of our hands to pluck the fruits of trees & plants, computerized technology is an extension of our greatest tool for manipulating the external world: _our _*_MINDS_*

I wish I had found out 50 years ago that my parents were narcissists and hell bent on destroying me. Narcissism is a scourge destroying young people's potential. Fix self esteem and all the rest falls into place.

During world war and during pandemics, people just wanted to have a job....put food on the table. When life becomes luxurious and laid back, then we think of all this....""doing what one likes to do etc."

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body; but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, & loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!" ~Hunter S. Thompson

The deathbed fallacy could be due to “grass is always greener on the other side” thinking. When you are nearing death, you regret the other kind of life you didn’t live.
