I was working at a very small gas station off interstate 80, in Shelton Nebraska. This older man drove up one day in a Cadillac, he came in got a drink. He wanted to sit at the table and talk so we did. He was very pleasant. He never introduced himself. One day on TV. Long after that meeting I recognized him! No idea I speaking to Warren Buffett! Such a kind man.

I choose value over vanity. I stayed until the end. I choose home cooking over eating out not just to save money, but I make my food healthier than the restaurants. This is a great video. No cigarettes or alcohol here!!!

Buying a house is one of the few assets that almost always goes up in value (except for 2008). Being older I look back at 1977, and see how much a house would have increased in value.

The most important thing I’ve learned is that The Founders did not want the government to sanction/charter long term business corporations. In a free market the government doesn’t charter corporations therefore there are no corporations in a free market.

As far as the ultra wealthy spending go, I had a friend who said they would do things like fly to Brazil for lunch.

Im not rich, highly educated or super ambitious. I always took jobs that came my way. Lived within my means. Always paid my credit cards off as quickly as I could which was easy because I didn’t charge things i couldn’t pay for. Mostly Bought good used cars and kept them for 10 -20 years. Went back to trade school at 30 yrs old. Always looked for discounts for all purchases. Unfortunately I was married 3 x. And those were costly adventures. Now I am living in retirement and surprisingly have a network of 3 million. Still surprised by it.

Didn't smoke, invested some money in mutual funds but the fees took most of the gains so got out of that missing the 2008 meltdown. Worked at a job with a pension plan and saved some money for retirement. Now at 74 very comfortable with a paid-off home and a new car. Don't have billions like Buffet but you can't take it with you and with the average life expectancy at just over 74 I just turned 74 and hope to make it at least ten more years.
