There are three amino acids abundant in Collagen:
Glycine
Proline
Hydroxyproline
And of course som others, less aboundant and therefore easy to get from any protein.

You get all of them in the right propotions for building collagen from hydrolyzed collagen.
Notice that is collagen broken down to shorter chains of amino acids. Collagen itself is hard for the body to break down.
Your body breakes them down further, and may use those amino acids for building its own collagen, or for something else, as it wants.

Notice that hydrolyzed collagen taste very badly. And hardly anything can hide it. Flavored doesn't do it! That makes it even worse!
I use the unflavored kind of hydrolyzed collagen in green tea. The bitterness of the tea masks the taste pretty well, just some remaining taste of it.
In coffe might work. But I like the taste of coffe to much to ruin it!

Glycogen is used for other important things too, such as building Glutathion. An antioxidant that keeps the mitocondria healthy, among other important things.
Look up GlyNAC for that!

So, you need more Glycine than you need for just collagen.

There's no vegan Collagen!
Just from fish or bovine.
But Glycine as a powder isn't animal, so that shouldn't be any problem.

It really reduces my pain in the knee, it improves my sleep but is it safe to take it when suffering from kidneys desease? I found different informations. It is seid to be dangerous for the kidneys and stomach. And others say it even protects the kidneys and stomach. So what is the truth? Is it safe to take it when suffering from renal insufficiency? And does rebuild cartilage in the knee?

If one consumes dietary collagen, what guarantees it will be taken up as collagen after the digestive system breaks it down into its constituent amino acids? Rather, why not take a cocktail of L-glycine, L-proline, and L-lysine, and vitamin C, effectively skipping the breakdown of collagen into peptides, and then into amino acids?
