What you need to advise people is to disable the control screen while the phone is locked. If somebody steals your phone and then swipes up and puts the phone in airplane mode, “find my iPhone“ will not work! THAT is the first thing you should advise regarding iPhone security. GRAZIE

yeah, but most thieves know to turn on airplane mode while it’s locked, preventing tracking.

to prevent THAT from happening, change this setting in your iphone:
settings>Face ID & Passcode>scroll down to the bottom and turn off “Control Center” when it comes to allowing access to use while locked.

This prevents thieves from turning on airplane mode while they have it in your possession.

Also, turn ON “Find my iphone while turned off”.

Yeah this works if it's lost and who found it has a good heart. If it's genuinely stolen or you left it somewhere and it's gone you should remotely disable it and keep looking for it. Still gone just completely wipe the data so they don't mess with your data. Some people are just messed up in the head and steal phones just to sell data like passwords, photos, notes, location data to a broker or people search website.

Stealing an iPhone would be pointless, since they serialize almost every part to the motherboard. So even if you sold the phone for parts, you wouldn’t get much.

This only works if you disable control center on the Lock Screen. Huge loophole for the security of the system

It actually works for me once. I immediately locks my phone from afar and later found it in someone’s trunk bc I activated the sound which really annoying but helps me really.
