About me:
Hi! My name is Vanessa and I am a 22 year old (as of video date) from Los Angeles, California! I am very invested in my faith and found a passion for teaching others about it. My passion all started out due to the fact I wanted to convert someone to Catholicism to make my life easier when it was time to get married. Long story short, that person did not convert, and I was then left with all this knowledge about the faith and about Church history and no where to put it. So now you have it! I want to educate as many people as I can on the faith, and help them understand the truth that Christ has revealed to us through the only, holy, catholic and apostolic Church he founded. I am on my journey to understand more. Everyday I work towards educating myself more and more. I will never hit the finish line of studying in this life, I will continue to learn everyday. With that being said, I may hit some bumps in the road... maybe I will get a few dates wrong... and maybe even pronounce some words wrong (even the English ones!). But I will not let my mistakes stop me, and I will keep striving to make God proud! Feel free to reach out to me via comment. I love and accept every comment regardless if you agree with me or not. I am very grounded in my faith that I do not worry about opposition. In fact, BRING IT ON. I'm just kidding with you all, but seriously, if you have anything to say, drop it in a comment down below. Hope you all have a God blessed day and rest of your week, and I look forward to seeing and hearing from you!

My husband passed away April 28, 2020, and I haven’t prayed or read the Bible since he passed, I’m mad, sad, hurt all rolled into one....No excuse I know. I really need to go back to doing it again.

Coming from a protestant background... The way I see it... The church is a community... And it is a community that stretches back almost 2000 years... The saints are members of that community (maybe even more like role models) and we can ask them to pray for us... Just like we ask others to pray for us.... Its really not that complicated

So beautiful an explanation! If Peter could be allowed to know that Annanias and Sapphira were withholding proceeds in Acts 5, by a Divine Revelation given to Peter by God, all the more now when Peter is in Heaven with Jesus.
As many in the early Church sought the mediation and intercession of mere human beings like Peter and Paul, and their prayers and shadow and handkerchiefs, ( Acts 5:15, Acts 9:38, 40, Acts 19:11), so too even now, for not even death can separate us! ( 2 Kings 13:21, Revelation 6:9). Thank you for your witness and Biblical insight! Peace always in Jesus Christ our Great and Kind God and Savior, He whose Flesh is True food and Blood True drink

Great as always, Van. I know this is one that many struggle with understanding, but when you look at the Biblical concepts as you do here it's pretty simple.

I think even before Hebrews 12 and Revelation 5 and 8 just lay it out there that being in communion with God puts us into communion with all of the saints and angels, it was an unavoidable conclusion even in more pastoral letters like 1 Corinthians:

Paul lays out for us that becoming a Christian makes us one in the Body of Christ and absolutely unable to say that we can do without each other (1 Cor 12) and that in Christ death is no longer able to cause the separation that it could before (1 Cor 15) - at that point you're balking against God's Word if you decide on insisting that anyone not pray for you and that you'll not seek out their prayers.

You can also use the verse, “Whoever eats my flesh will have eternal life.” Because Saints received Jesus in the Eucharist, their soul will have eternal life. And since their souls are not dead, their intercession is a great thing.

My FSSP priest said that the saints hear our prayers because God allows them to. In essence, when our prayers go up to God -- and if our prayers are asking for intercession from a specific saint -- then said prayer would be sent to that saint by God in order for that saint to pray for us.

The point is that we believe Saints are alive, with conscious and in perfected spiritual form with the Holy Spirit.

If we don't understand what God has prepared for us, we don't know if he indeed will give us the power to hear prayer from people on earth. Therefore, you are assuming that he will give us that power, but is not a fact.

Proverbs 6:20 and Proverbs 31 10-29 are great verses to support listening to Our Mother, given to us by Jesus Himself. We should live by every word from the mouth of God who is Jesus. He was in total agony when He commanded this and therefore we can say it was important. He founded the one true Church that St. Peter first led. Food for thought...

"Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter, ” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living? Isaiah 8:19-20
