I do all these things and more (8 hours sleep, not much stress, walk, lift, and ride a bike, etc.). I've lost 25 pounds in a few months, but apparently NOT of visceral fat. My face and legs are thin, and no love handles, but stomach stays about the same. I'm starting to think virtually no one understands many people's actual struggles with visceral fat.

I am so glad that you make it clear that you are speaking about Type 2 Diabetes and not Type 1. So many people giving advice about health and fitness fail to make this difference clear.

Thank you for using studies to back up your point. Some of them are not large and don't have a control group, but so many YouTubers don't use studies as all. I agree with the protein point, but if too much protein is consumed, the body turns it into insulin which is fat storing. . .too much is not a good thing. Good video. Thank you again.

I quit smoking & drinking 7 years ago I’ve gained weight and look worse 😂 go figure. I also had more energy when I smoked and drank too 🤷‍♀️

1. Never drank, pot or drugs or medications; 2. Have limited sugar/fructose for 24 years; 3. On Keto since 2017 and then Carnivore (so high protein) and lost 40 pounds but not belly fat; 4. Exercizeaholic, hiking, biking, swimming in rivers, 4x a week my whole life. NONE OF THAT dissolved it or gets rid of it.

Funny thing is, I don't drink alcohol. Giving up sugar won't work much, much I mean losing 1-2 kg can happen, very slow. Protein just gives you muscle, not really helps when you already have good muscles. Started eating more fat. Helped 2 days, lost 0.5 visceral fat. Today I try more carbs. Let's see, what that does ...

I'm doing all of this, eating low carb, doing cardio and yoga and still cannot get rid of my pot belly 😩

Feels like people are always saying that you should eat lots of protein to lose fat, but that's kinda bull. If you eat plenty of fiber, you get a full and satisfied feeling as well with normal protein amounts.
Most people already eat more then the recommended amount of protein. However, most people don't eat enough fiber, fruits, vegetables. Can we please encourage people to eat those instead of more animal protein, *which is fiberless!*

I agree sugar isn't good but its not actually high in calories, people do eat more of it however as its pleasurable.
Also fat is lost everywhere on the body during caloric deficit, I hear people talk about " loosing belly fat" everyday but in reality you will loose from all over, spot reduction is a myth.
Not disagreeing with you BTW just clarifying some grey areas.
