Police arrested a "strong person of interest" in the killing of UnitedHealthcare's CEO.

The person of interest, identified by police as 26-year-old Luigi Nicholas Mangione, had a gun believed to be the one used in the fatal shooting of Brian Thompson, as well as writings and other evidence.

Video shows police walking Mangione into a courthouse in Hollidaysburg, PA for his preliminary arraignment.

Mangione faces five charges in Pennsylvania, including forgery, carrying a concealed firearm without license and false identification to law enforcement.

LiveNOW's Andy Mac discussed Mangione's arrest with FOX News' Caroline Elliott.

Mangione was taken into custody around 9:15 a.m. ET after police got a tip that he was eating at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said at a news conference.

According to court documents, Mangione was sitting at a table in the rear of the McDonald's wearing a blue medical mask and looking at a silver laptop computer and had a backpack on the floor.

When he pulled down his mask, Altoona police officers "immediately recognized him as the suspect" in the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, the documents say.

Asked for identification, Mangione provided officers with a fake ID — a New Jersey driver’s license bearing another name and the incorrect date of birth.

When an officer asked Mangione if he’d been to New York recently, he "became quiet and started to shake," the court documents say

He was carrying a ghost gun, a type of weapon that can be assembled at home from parts without a serial number, making them difficult to trace, investigators said.

Mangione was born and raised in Maryland, has ties to San Francisco and a last known address in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Mangione attended an elite Baltimore prep school, graduating as valedictorian in 2016, according to the school’s website. He went on to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science in 2020 from the University of Pennsylvania, a school spokesman said.

One of his cousins is a Maryland state legislator and his family bought a country club north of Baltimore in the 1980s.

We know more about this shooter moments after he's been apprehended than the shooter that nearly caused a Civil War 4 months ago.

After 6 days, a stranger in McDonalds identified him but his large family back home and circle of friends/acquaintances did not? Bit strange?

When they select a jury, they’re gonna have to do a lot of background checks because they can’t possibly get somebody on a jury that has been denied healthcare either by this company united or any other company because they might harbor some ill Will towards insurance companies

When he is standing in front of a jury those people need to remember the 32% denial rate.

this is not the same guy. They showed us three different pictures and in each one the man appeared to be older with the much slender face. Even the teeth are shaped differently. They have the wrong guy. I hope they do not prosecute an innocent person for the sake of prosecuting someone. If you look at all three photos and compare them to his picture today, this is a completely different guy.. I hope they continue to do their manhunt and find the right person so this doesn’t happen again.

There seems to be a strong correlation between "I'll never eat at McDonald's again" and "my claims were denied". 🤔

It’s hard to have sympathy for his family when they’ve been raking in the benefits of the deaths of those people denied coverage due to a system that the CEO victim helped perpetuate.

Yes, it’s sad that the CEO’s family lost someone dear to them.

What’s even sadder is that millions of people suffer EVERY SECOND, OF EVERY DAY because they don’t have the luxury of going to the hospital or access to medications they need to have a decent quality of life or could save their life.
