Let’s all just be honest fwd is just good cheap fun, like the Ford Sts, GTIs, Si and etc have got a lot of people into cars and will always be fun to drive coming from an 8th Si owner so maybe I’m biased 🤷🏾‍♂️

at least driving an FF it's fun to drive when you use the grip and the driving techniques in a mountain pass

In a controlled scenario, I like the way understeer feels. It means I'm pushing the car to its limits and cars are fun when driven to their limits

"Oversteer 'HELL OF A TIME' !"

MR2 owners: so that was a fucking lie

I dont mind front wheel drive. I’ve never had a problem with it and I love knowing I got that extra safety net when driving in snow or on ice

FWD is really fun with a limited slip diff. Car feels like it’s clawing its way out of the corner! I’d still choose RWD for a weekend/track car though

yknow, before I was an enthusiast with a FWD I too believed that they would understeer. However, if you know about weight transferring and suspension load then you know that front wheel drive is easy to drive fast. you just need to either shift the weight by intentionally steering harder at corner entry than you'd think or by lift off oversteering, then throttling out of the corner. there are plenty of ways to tune a FWD car to handle just as good if not better than a RWD in a good amount of cases. skinnier tires in the rear or overinflating the rear tires will help with rotation(tho I wouldn't recommend overinflating) along with making the rear generally stiffer than the front are all things that induce oversteer and make for a more desirable racing/driving experience. Of course you can't do drifting like you can in a RWD but you can oversteer and have a good time, if you care to figure it out. Btw I mean no hate or anything, I own a FWD and a RWD and I used to have an AWD. they're all fun in their own ways.

Every drive train has their purposes, advantages and disadvantages. I love FWD, cause Hondas are freaking sweet. Just the other day I look my RWD Lexus drifting. Why all the hate?

I have a car that I've been building for SCCA autocross for about 6 years now. Its FWD, and i love it. When a FWD car is set up right, it can oversteer quite a bit. I have quite a few videos that show proof of it. Not to mention, they're pretty easy to save in a slide, as long as its not too far gone. Just counter steer and floor it.

I have a 2012 Honda Fit Sport with a 5-speed, Type One Racing coils, a Progress rear sway bar, and Federal 595 RS-R tires. I may not get up to speed quickly, but it absolutely rips in the mountains and corners like an absolute dream. Front wheel drive is an absolute blast to drive.
