This is a great idea. Looking forward to more live stream clips in the future!

These little clips are awesome for those of us who can’t get to the livestreams, thanks for these Matt!

Torque steer is certainly an issue but I think the shifting of weight is a bigger problem. Of course on a RWD platform the weight shifts right onto the wheels that need traction for accelerating. FWD that little lift in the front lessens the pressure on the front wheels just enough to prevent it from using its power.

Because the torque will blow the steering wheel out of your hands 🤣🤣🤣

I have a Sonata N-Line with a tune and a couple of mods. It's probably sitting around 300 wheel. I do still have the stock P-Zero all seasons, which honestly suck. But yeah this car is just allergic to any type of traction off the line. Don't get me wrong it's fun, but does get annoying after awhile.

Trying to launch with TC on, you may as well have just taken off normally. TC off and you'll just burnout into 3rd gear + wheel hop. I've heard of people swapping to grippier tires and reporting slightly better traction, but not much. Plus as Matt mentioned, the car doesn't have an LSD so you're limited there too.

I really enjoy my car. It's relatively quick and lots of fun for being a Sonata. But I think I'll be moving to a RWD platform for my next car.

Yeah, my '22 Si with stock all-seasons just sits there when I put down the power in 1st or 2nd whenever it's a wet road, unless I really baby the throttle. It's actually a bit dangerous getting on some highways from a dead stop.

Back when the Focus RS was only front wheel drive, Ford made an RS500 version that has 350hp, unless you're gentle with throttle it's basically wheelspin city every time you want accelerate quickly from a standstill. When it's wet, forget about getting off the line quickly, it will wheelspin easily even in 3rd gear.

Big turbo Honda bois are like "300hp? Hold my beer"

I had a 15 GTI and found the constant tire spin to be pretty annoying. Especially the fact that the turbo kicks in when the weight has shifted and you lose traction so bad. I didn't enjoy owning that car at all and I think that was only 210 hp and around the same torque.

Modded Cobalt SS did that 15 years ago and did it well for the price.

Stream clips are great. Some could be shorts as well

I've had an extensive lineup of performance fwd's. Every time I mod one beyond 300 hp (260-265ish wheel) the chassis screams bloody murder and can't put the power down well. It varies car to car but they each had a sweet spot around that. But my driving style is back road carving, auto-x & track days so I need to be able to put the power down efficiently. When I was deep in the Fiesta ST scene, there were loads of guys running 350+ wheel on S280 turbos but outside of a very few of them, most couldn't do much more then highway roll racing which I've never really cared much for. I think manufacturers have it about right at 300 crank max for a car that is used for daily driving.

The sweat spot for FWD is about 250HP with linear NA power. That mean even lighter weight then the turbo version and even better lap time.

My mates DC5 is running a K24A Turbo Fully Built. The car could make about 5-600bhp, but it's turned to perfection at 450bhp!. Any more, and it becomes too wild, and he loses lap time from it, just wanting to spin up or understeer. I've got a 2015 STI, and i can promise you that DC5 is absolutely rapid!!

Let's go! I always wondered why the driver's character in "Drive" opted for a fwd Impala SS over literally anything else lol.

300 lb ft of torque is where the limits of FWD are pushed by torque steer. LSD can take it further though.

I feel like this a great idea to upload the clips.
