Interested in a custom strategy to retire early?

In the video, I will discuss a retirement approach that aligns with your goals rather than following a traditional path.

I will explain how some people love the idea of retiring completely, while others prefer to keep working in some capacity because they enjoy it.

The key is understanding what enough means to you financially and emotionally so you can make decisions that support the life you want to live.

I started rally running the numbers a couple years ago and around a year ago i got serious and discovered I could retire right then if I wanted to. I told my coworker but not my employer, 3 months ago I told my employer I was leaving on September 27 wanting to give them time to get someone in todo a knowledge transfer. I was thinking they might not be able to get some in but we got someone who could start 2 weeks before my retire date. they are very sharp with just the right experience to fill my role at work. I was going to leave whether they found someone or not but am glad they did. I can leave knowing its in good hands. I can tell you one thing though, work hits different when you no longer have to be there. Friday was my last day. looking forward to tomorrow, my first real day of retirement.

The horrible advice begins at 13:45. The title of that section is "Adjust Spending", but all you talk about is working longer, spending MORE money, and never once (in the whole video) do you talk about the necessity to live within your means on a realistic budget. You always bring up "dreaming", which is the opposite of responsible planning. I don't know how you have any clients...I guess there's just that many naive people out there with some retirement savings.

Can you discuss strategies when planning for retirement and pursuing relocation and purchase of a home at once? This from the perspective that you can easily qualify for mortgage while working vs as retiree. Planning both things at once can be tricky. Thanks!

Ari, You and James have provided such a gift of thoughtful content! I have been on autopilot with just stashing away money in my 401k for so long. But last spring my boss who is 20 yrs younger asked what my plans were for retirement. I came back with at least 8-10 years since the government would probably push the goal post to 70 by the time I got there. This simple interaction flipped a switch to cause me to start being more intentional with scrutinizing where I was and what I need to do to be where I want to. NOT at your 2M threshold but the concepts you present are priceless. Keep up the good work and I pray you are rewarded with both tangible success and the joy from knowing you blessed others lives.
