Being a student what job exactly was she trying to get? I mean, if she was trying to get a job with salary around 100-150k/month gross or higher being a zero student with no experiense, then its normal. Even russian students would not get such jobs. And what does it mean that sales are shitty? If she meant a person behind the counter then it is the exact job for student with no experience, also couriers, waiters etc. If she wanted smth more than there are lots of internship programmes, for which of course, you'll get much less money, but get experience. The same as everywhere else.

When you move to Russia, try to surround yourself with Russian speakers. Because the language is needed to find a job, one should not think that many companies in our country use English. Ask people for help, we Russians may seem rude and angry, but in most cases we will try to help in some way, especially Africans, especially in the northern regions of the country.If you've had a negative experience with white people, don't worry and don't get angry, not all people are like that.

Hiring, recruiting in Russia is very Shitty. The recruiters are not making it easy for foreigners to be hired in Tech roles which I think will limit how attractive this country can be to foreigners. I hope a lot will change in the near future.
