The refill tube is supposed to have a choke on it. A small rolling clamp that you use to adjust the bowl level. The bowl should refill to the point just before overflowing past the trap just as the tank goes full. And all stops simultaneously. Often, these days, the refill tube kits no longer come with the clamp, most people don't know what they are or how to use them.

Now there is no water coming down the sides of the bowl through the many outlets around the seat ring. This water is necessary to wash down any waste that attaches sometimes after a "number two". Have you thought of that?

I have a Fluid Master 400 and I tried this. But, the bowl does not fill as well as it does with the original placement of the black vinyl tube. But, thanks for all your great tips

I removed the refill tube from the overflow pipe to the tank to save water. After the tank is fully filled up, the toilet hole is still sealed the some water. Is it OK? Is there any problem ?

Could it be that the tank water pushes the waste past the trap and the water goin in the overflow tube helps the waste keep going with out wasting too much. Toilets and flush valves are engineered on purpose. If your toilet starts to not flow right you will know why.

Can you explain what is refilling the bowl if you have no water from the refill tube going into the refilll pipe? I am so confused! Is it regurgitated water from the siphon - at least some of it!?

My issue is that it flushes but then there’s a pause and looks like it relies on over fill valve to get toilet to fill bowl again? It doesn’t fill and flush at same time anymore

My toilet has been stopped up. Then wax ring needed replaced. Did that, got toilet back in. Now the bowl fills faster than the tank and overflows. Now, I did install a bidet buddy and water is coming into the bowl from that also. Btw, toilet still won’t flush. 🤷🏼‍♀️
