Mine is slow to trigger the refill for 5-10 seconds. I am going to try tip#1 to clean and unclog any calcium deposit first.
Thanks

You are *THE MAN*
I bought a new American Standard toilet and the rubber plug was extremely restrictive! I removed it and now I'm getting very fast fills. Thank you!

Glad I ran into your video. Right away, I went for number 1, and it worked like magic. Appreciate it! Subscribed.

The fix it guy showed me how to fix the water supply problem. The 3rd method worked fro me. I did not replaced the rubber part. It works great! Other guys only showed one way. This guy told it 2 steps farther thank goodness.

Your video answered a question that I have been searching for for the last hour and a half. I was replacing a Fluidmaster valve and this rubber screw thing fell out of the old valve. I have replaced probably 20 of these valves over the years and never saw that restrictor part before. It fell out and I didn't know which way it went back in. Your detailed video was the answer. Thank you.

Thanks for this excellent video. Had the exact same FluidMaster components… and it was your Step 3 that helped me diagnose my problem. When I finally (after much struggle) pulled out that gray spiral rubber piece (that controls water pressure), I discovered it was badly ripped and split in two spots! I still cleaned it up and stuck it back in but, as I expected, the slow refill problem persisied. So for $24 I just bought and installed a new fill valve component and BINGO! Problem solved & refills like a champ now. Thank you!!!! 🎉

4:34 what’s the worst that can happen if I leave the rubber spiral out? Does it increase the risk of flooding due to the fill valve bursting due to high PSI?

Firstly, thanks for the great tutorial it helped immensely! My water flow was restricted by a Fill Valve Seal. It cost $2.98 at HD. I would have never thought to replace it without your video. Hopefully, my little tip may help someone else.

Thank you so much. I just installed a new fluid master but it wouldn’t refill until I took the top off and put it back on. Now it’s working great.

My problem is the rubber plug inside the fill valve tube. The problem is to find the name of the plug and where to find a replacement for it. Can't find it in the local Home Depot or Lowe's. I sent an email to FluidMaster tech support if they can help. But if you know the name of the plug and better if you know where to find them, I would apprciate it.

Thank you so much, taking out that stupid rubber piece fixed my toilet 100%. That is the worst thing in there. Why would I want the water to flow slowly. It used to take about 5 min for the toilet to fill up, now less than a minute, what a difference. God bless you!

Nice ! I did not know that you can pop the top of from the valve to check for debris. I have to admit that if I was to take out that flow restrictor rubber thing that it is going to have larger outlet holes when it is reinstalled ! LOL .... Thumbs UP to you Brian.
