Advice for 28-30 year olds

You’ve just started your life. It’s so sad that our culture has decided that everything has to be figured out at such a young age. This way of thinking has imposed a lot of self doubt and anxiety in the system and I’m passionate to at least start a dialog around how absurd it is to think that at the 20-25% mark of one’s life, especially after they have been in the modern education system for most of their lives, that they should somehow have “life” figured out.

The pressure from your parents (many don’t have their lives figured out too) or from friends or society (most are unhappy and don’t have it figured out either) is unacceptable.

Simple question, are you happy? Are you self aware about what would make you happy? Are you coming along in the process of not letting other people’s opinions dictate your actions?
I am super passionate around communicating observations and this one, this one sticks to me like glue. Go on your own timeline, it’s your timeline, not anyone else’s.

Please tag 13 people in the comments, ok 1, one person who could really benefit from it!

I love you ❤️ now go love yourself.

Thanks for watching!

About to hit 30 and regret not doing things in my 20s that I wanted to do to help set up what I want to do as a career in my life. I've heard so many famous people didnt get their start until they were much older than 30. So, this was something I needed to hear!

Exactly this! 😊 Even after 30 or 40 etc. And it’s ok! Figure it out at your own pace and terms!

28 dropped on me after 3 years of COVID
3 years that I will for ever feel like were stolen from me
I moved back to my home country, left university, my business progress crushed
and there I am no longer 25 I was 28.
I still don't have the answers, a year later it's getting better but I do believe what I didn't do in my 20's is gone I will not catch up partying or backpacking at 30
So I believe a good relationship a happy family, is the real feeling of content and figuring it out

I turned 28 in May and I'm still not where I want to be in life. I want to finish college, I want to study abroad and live in other countries, experience different cultures but I've been scared because 30 is so much closer now than it was at 27 lol

I really needed to hear that it's okay to not have things figured out and that I still have time to do anything I want.

Thank you

I’m filled with so much guilt & shame that I haven’t figured it out yet. All my peers are at a stage in life where they’re secure professionally and are getting married, and I’m absolutely nowhere as compared. Daily reminder: be kind to myself.

Im 32 and enjoy life's moments best I can. I have a 4 year old kid, a fun job, not making the MOST money, I could make more tomorrow, but I choose the lifestyle at this point. I enjoy every moment I can. Sometimes it's hard and challenging, both mentally, relationship wise, even workwise, especially parenting wise, but that's life. We enjoy what we can. Challenges are good.

I was afraid of turning 30, it pushed me to get into truck driving at 29. Existential dread pushes me forward, I cant relax unless Im making progress. Im 32. Pain is energy, its fine. The fear, anxiety, depression, whatever, its actually a goos thing. If you felt completely content being stuck in a less than ideal position youd never accomplish anything. Pain is rocket fuel, it can either launch you into orbit or burn you alive, it depends on how you use it. It makes sense to feel pain about being 28 and not having a wife, children, a home. For the totality of history at that age you would have those things. Today it is common not to, it isnt natural for adulthood to be delayed so long. But let the pain be a warning to better your life, dont pick up toxic habits to escape it.
