18:00 - YES! - this is a very valid point. You can rag the arse out of a car like this and stretch it's legs without getting to illegal/unsafe speeds. realistically a Golf GTi (for example) you're going to hit the limits of legality and safety long before you'll hit it's limits. Cars like this are much, much more entertaining to drive in so many ways simply because you can open them up a bit without too much risk to life and licence. You can drive the Golf GTi for economy and maybe get 35-40mpg. But that isn't much fun, now, is it? - even if you positively violate the Aygo's engine and gearbox, I bet you still struggled to drop much below 40mpg whilst doing it.

Thanks for the review, excellent. This Aygo X looks a laugh to drive, but the pricing is a bit ambitious. If I was getting one, it would be base spec only.

I looked at the Aygo X as a replacement for my daughter's 2012 VW Up! Black that she'd bounced 😞. I liked the 3 cylinder engine of the Toyota (like the VW) and the 10 year warranty (if serviced at Toyota), but have ended up buying another Up! This one the 2018 90hp Beats model - It just felt it was more substantial than the Aygo. Thoughts?

No prefer the Yaris as internally it is better and the Yaris has a CVT Box which is not an extra cost, so I am told by Tish

I bought the "Premium"* version in Cardamon Green, with canvas roof, CTV and JBL sound system.
Will be delivered somewhere in September.

*"Limited" no longer being available, the "Premium" has however the same specs except for the orange
striping being changed to ginger.

Got this car, with canvas roof, for 3 months now. It's fantastic.... Drives great and little fuel. We are over 65 and no kids....

Have had my Aygo X Exclusive for about four weeks, driven "normally" with the canvas roof closed and air conditioning turned off it does in the low 60, s mpg . Great review .... I did a test drive in the CVT version and REALLY did not like it .Its VERY noisy under acceleration . As you said you can still have fun at legal speeds, just as well cos their getting lower all the time!.

If you want an Aygo buy one of the original smaller ones. This just the same engine in a bigger heavier car with a load of annoying drivers assistance functions you don't need. I much preferred my old x play to my current cross.

This is cheaper than the Yaris cross, but significantly less efficient.

I love the funky styling and that crazy fabric roof. But 0-60 in 15 seconds and barely 50mpg?
