It is the sixteenth entry in the long-running Fire Emblem series and the first on a home console since 2007's Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. As the first game in the series with HD visuals, Three Houses features more detailed graphics than previous installments. The game focuses on four protagonists: the teacher (the player character, named "Byleth" by default), and three students and heirs of their countries, Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude.

From my experience so far, the best units are: Petra, Lysithea, Leonie, Bernie, Ferdinand and Ingrid.

Sylvain imo is a really good. As a paladin and dark knight he carried me in Blue Lions and as a mage/dark knight he had amazing def AND res and surprisingly strong magic on too of his hidden talent skill he dodges a lot and crits a lot and if he does get hit his defenses and hp are so high its not a problem. He also has suprisingly good speed and became my best unit besides Byleth and Dimitri. he’s continuing to carry me in Black Eagles now. tldr Mage Sylvain is actuallly a good idea and he’s amazing.

good video I also like Mercedes healing is underrated in All FE games and I personally think she is the best one

a lot of people don't like archers but Shamir is a great archer and bailed me out of a lot of difficult late-game maps with hunters volley

Lysithea single handedly is the best and strongest unit in the game!!! even without the Thyrus relic she's still amazing and can OKO most enemies especially bosses and demonic beasts! Petra is another amazing unit godspeed and great offenses you can go either Swordmaster, Assassin or Wyvern rider 2 of which keeps her Timeskip design massive plus!(btw very stupid the Master classes don't keep any of the base timeskip designs hope that changes in the future update!). Hilda is also an amazing beast I definitely go Wyvern rider\lord go brigand during the course to get death blow and work on flying amazing results! Leonie is amazing! she never let me down I stay Paladin or if I can Wyvern Lord. Mercedes imo is the best healer in the game her crest effect is what you want for a healer and her stats for me were amazing before the timeskip! Dorothea fittingly is the best dancer imo she has high utility with dance and Stride gambit! Archer definitely Shamir awesome personal skill just by being awesome seriously still like Bernadetta but Shamir outclasse her a bit more I still use Bernadetta time to time but Shamir is go to for me. Manuela is great extra healer good offensive worth training in Reason despite bizarrely being bad at it. Lorenz honestly is just for the staff relic for Lysithea still decent I guess. Marriane is comparable to Mercedes but doesn't have that great Crest effect still great in her own right.

Great list! I think it's worth mentioning Ingrid as a Falcon Knight and Marianne and Flayne having healing on lock down. Marianne is incredible with the Levin Sword too, especially if you forge it.

A couple of thoughts:

I'd have to disagree on sticking with her strengths, going with swords for a short period allows her to grab Vantage from Merc, which goes fantastic with her range and the defensive abilities of the staff, and really alleviates her otherwise squishy nature. To help with her strength weakness, give her a Levin Sword, as it only needs a C in sword, the same rank needed to get 100% on Merc anyways.

Beyond that, Mortal Savant is just a bad class for magic users, so her real final options are Gremory, Dark Knight, or Holy Knight. If you plan for her to be a warp bot, Gremory is the best choice, but if you want her to be a nuke, working through her lance weakness to get Dark Knight should be worth it, giving her much better mov and darkmagicfaire. Since you only need a C in lances for a 100%, or D+ for a workable 66%, its really not hard to work through her weakness if you keep up with statue upgrades, especially if you have professor expertise bonus for it.

If you have either Linhardt or Leonie, or plan to recruit one, recruit the other, as they have a paralogue that gives a really good weapon, but unlike some paralogues you NEED both recruited.

I disagree with your Petra thoughts on class, Wyvern Lord is a really busted class in this game, and she's really good at both Axes and Flying, and you only need a C in lances for that 100%, which is incredibly easy to achieve with a neutral.

Sylvain is a good unit. No, I'm not biased because I chose Blue Lions and is my second favorite male character in the game. Totally not biased.
Oh, and I also like him because a mounted unit who can use magic is one of my favorite classes.

My recruitment in 4 route :
- Crimson Flower : Sylvain + Ingrid + Lysithea
- Azure Moon : Caspar + Lysithea
- Verdant Wind : Ingrid
- Silver Snow : Everyone

In my playthrough, caspar was the best at killing demonic beasts. He would end up doing 40 times 40 with 50 percent crit chance. He was absolutely insane. This was without the barrier being completely cracked as well.
