The answer is: the battle looks really sad, because the others are lonely.

Obviously, in the video, I was still missing some students but you can see the pattern regardless. Any recruited students are replaced by generic soldiers. I wanted to see a hilarious battle where only the house leaders and their one exclusive character remained but I guess that would've made the battle a joke and ruined the grand scale of it which makes sense.

Its amusing, but sad how lonely the other houses appear if you take all the students. Sort've almost encouraging you to only recruit SOME students. It makes the matters interesting when you eventually fight the others. But taking all the students.. because we dont want them to die severely ruins the experience of conflict.
