In reality it probably won’t cause any issues but when drilling through joists you have to recognise where this is acceptable. There is guidance on this, and it states do not drill holes within the first quarter span and to drill through the centre line. Also the holes cannot be too close to each other. This is to prevent undermining the structural integrity of the joist. In this video it appears he has drilled too close to the end of the joist and within the first quarter span. Plumbers, electricians, etc. often drill wherever and very rarely it causes problems but the guidance is there for a reason so anyone doing this, it’s worth checking it out. There are different rules for notching out the tops of joists. Thanks for the video.
