Due to risk of damage in a garage, especially if DIY jobs done there, I would not be using plastic boxes and face plates. I would be using something like the MK Metalclad switched fuse spur.

Hi, excellent video. I have a question? I want to feed a small set of LED strips under some shelving and have the 12V transformer. I have identified a 30a 3 way junction box in the ceiling above which feeds the lighting circuit. Can I add a 1.5mm able to this and feed this to a fused spur > 12V transformer for the LED strips or should I stick with 2.5mm cable from the Junction box.

Hi. Very good Youtube learning. Please advise if i) a switched fuse spur for a boiler should be 3 amp or 13 amp ? ii) if the former, would it be ok if the fuse spur's 13 amp be just replaced by a 3 amp fuse ? iii) how come my switche fuse spur just has one hole for Earth ? Many thanks.

Good vid. Is it dangerous to rig a light straight from a 3 pin socket to a rocker switch and then to a ceiling light bayonet holder, or is it best to use a cable from the 3 pin socket to a SFS as the light switch. Thanks

Quick question. I have a fused switch fitted and second wire goes to outside light. I want to change light and run a new cable. I removed the fuse and cut the wire. Do I need to turn off electric when I’m fitting new wires? I know it’s dead as I cut the old wire but is there anything live if fuse is out when fitting new wire?
