Simple Plug in Light and Switch

Learn how to wire up a plug in light and switch. This kind of task is really useful if you have a source of power where you can plug in a light, but want to place the switch in a more convenient place. For example, a loft may have a couple of sockets but no light and you want to light up the loft.

The principle applies to any light you may wish to control via a switch or dimmer.

Remember: always work with the power turned off, never wire up live wires. If in doubt, consult an electrician!

Great vid, only thing missing is info on what size fuse to use. Common sense would say that this is a very small electrical load so a 3 amp fuse would be the safest option to use in the plug.

This was racking my brain I have run a cable to my shed and I couldn't figure this out as most videos or diagrams are off the ring main. But I guessed this method but thought I'd check before I actually did it
