Very well explained thank you the first video that actually explains clearly - easily and very concisely how to connect a light fitting from a socket.

I’ve got to say, this is a brilliant explanation. I have managed to follow this to the letter and now have a fantastic porch light 💡. The hardest thing was feeding the cable without too much mess. Thank you 🙏🏻

I looked this video up because I'm fitting in a new light in my porch, originally wired by an electrician. I couldn't figure the wiring out, until I eventually realised the neutral was connected via a single-pole switch and the live was going straight to the light fitting. The light was a PIR-switched unit and the single-pole switch was only ever used to isolate the unit when I was changing the bulb, which of course, it wasn't actually doing. Always check with circuit-tester or multi-meter, even if the wiring was done by a qualified person. Super video, by the way, very good set-up to demonstrate wiring.

This is the only video I’ve found which has given instructions on how to do this. Fantastic, thanks 🙏

Your videos are great. I'm converting my garage into a man cave, the lights currently are plugged into a socket, this will enable me to free that socket up for other things now.

Love your videos! They are super clear and simple, and I have used a number of your videos for different projects. Ceiling rose to spotlights, fitting bathroom fan wiring and now this one. Thankyou! 🤩

These are great videos mate, I’m a facilities and maintenance tech for a transport company and get a lot of info from YouTube on how to do things that I’ve never done before, I almost have to know a certain amount about every trade and your videos are very easy to understand and are super helpful.
Keep them coming, thanks 🙏

Cheers for your helpful video!
I used 2.5mm from the socket to FCU. Then you only need 1 or 1.5mm to your switch and lamp. In the UK (not sure on other regs), your FCU should have a 3amp fuse. I can't see a 5amp being a problem though.
I completed this setup, installing a light for the under stairs cupboard. All bits from my local Screwfix (already had 2.5 and 1mm cable), total cost under £20 which included 6m of trunking. A cheap enough DIY job.
Thanks again for the great video!

Fantastic video so easily explained, I used it to install some external flood lights and it worked a treat. I also took photos of each stage as a record of the connections and used wago connectors internally.
