People have always been saved by looking forwards to the Messiah or backwards to the Messiah.

things change without changing the covenant. wandering to physical nation. freedom to captivity. dispensations within the covenant.

Seems like there is hardly enough detail presented to tell a Covenant Theologian from a Dispensationalist.

What about CT's idea of infant baptism, covenant children, and it seems like merging the Church into Israel?

Hey Allen / Do you think John Mac should remove Alister Begg from Shepherds Conference ????

Great job. But did I hear you say “when He once again returns to take us home?” As in a pr-trib rapture? I didn’t think you held to that.

Question, why focus dispensational theology on Darby but not CT on beza?

What are your thoughts on the comments from Jesus that He would return in the lifetime of some of the apostles?

Is there a difference in the covenant of grace in Gen 3 and all the other places where God actually called a covenant a covenant? I heard someone say Gen 3 was a statement of what God was going to do (the gospel) it wasn’t a covenant as he explains covenants in other places. Just wondering if that Gen 3 covenant of grace language is disputed by people?

Alex, do you believe in any truth, or do you just report on all things religious sociological?

I think part of the problem here is trying to condense all biblical covenants into "covenant of works" and "covenant of grace." These terms are not Biblical... so of course, we will have trouble figuring out how to shoehorn the Mosaic Covenant into this framework. There were elements both of works and grace. But I don't think that many people would have much of a problem with the basic framework of recognizing Biblical covenants, despite the strange categorization of those covenants. In my opinion, where things get weird are when we try to conform the new covenant in Christ's blood to the old covenant with Israel. Once again, it is because we are trying to force each covenant into a particular shape. It's best to simply accept them as they are revealed and not add or take away to conform them to an artificial form with relation to other covenants.

God makes covenants with His people. He doesn’t have two people. The Gentiles have been grafted into Israel, the true people of God.
