Dragon pistol squat (1 hand grab)

Показать описание

For athletes who can easily rep normal pistols with good form, the dragon pistol offers an extra challenge for pike/squat mobility. The 2 hand & 1 hand grab variations require more passive ROM while the no grab variation requires more active pike/squat mobility and strength.

If you can’t yet do a dragon pistol on flat ground, try it on a low obstacle to slightly reduce the pike/squat/ankle DF mobility requirement. If you can bang out quality dragon pistols, you probably don’t need to work them often, just occasionally for maintenance.

Although dragon pistols are a less common falling shape during falling, some twisting acrobatics movements could send you into a similar position. Better to have already/proactively built strength and control in the bottom of a dragon pistol than to have your first time in the position be unintentional ;)

I have done a ton of stretching (hours of it every single day and night) and strengthening of my legs over the last two weeks since my previous attempts. Now I try this again and I can do it fine.

The main way i can get the full extent of the squat is to grab a leg, but i grab on the way down, not when im still standing upright
