This year has been one of profound change! I'm definitely NOT saying that leaving a high-paying job is the answer when it comes to your mental health. Every workplace varies as vastly as every person's personality and they way they perceive and handle being in various workplaces. This is my story. I hope it helps or inspires you in some way.💖

Debt paid off to date: $143,849.31 ($99,978.42 in principal, the rest in interest) 😮‍💨

Hello!👋 If you're new here, my name is Rachel. I'm a millennial with lots of student loan debt.💰 I'm here to share my story as I push for financial independence and debt pay-down in hopes of inspiring others to feel that there's hope to get out from under their debt and take their life and finances back! That was a great recap of the last year. You have learned and achieved so much on debt, owning a property, paycheque to paycheque living, mental health, burnout, staying in a job that you hated for the comfort of emergency fund and other personal funds, having the courage to leave said job and be ok with that, finding a job you liked, being unemployed and knowing what you really want from life. You have shared all those moments with us, to help us and teach us. That is a fantastic gift to give. Thank you so much. Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇‍♀️👏💪👍🙏💐🐈🐈‍⬛☘️

Sometimes money is not everything if a job is toxic and affects your mental health. I believe you will find the right job soon.

I've recently talked on my channel about how stress can affect your body and your health. I don't think we realise just how damaging it is and how it creeps up on us and how we just deal with it. And then if the stress goes away, you realise exactly what you were putting up with. I've experienced this, and now I'm hyper aware when I am in stressful situations and I try to avoid it. It's not worth it, if it can be avoided.

I'm all too familiar with the feeling. Currently burnt out and over it. I've paid off everything including my house knowing that I can't do this job at my current employer for long term. I was hoping to do 5 years, but with new policies this month I'm just trying to get to my 3 year mark coming up in a couple months. Half of my team left already as well as my boss this month so the additional workload and stress is now compounding. I'm now stockpiling additional money away on top of my emergency fund for a mental health sabbatical.
I also got to the coastFIRE mark at the end of last year/early this year. I got enough invested to grow and compound by itself if the markets are okay. I think a slower pace is definitely what I need as well. ❤

Great video to hear about how things have gone in the year since your job ended. Whew, worth it! ALSO I feel like I've never asked you this: can you share about your eye make up? especially the plum/red type color I've seen a lot . I'm a non make up person but want to dabble and I always really like your ways you do it. Forgive me if I've asked this before!

Much of personal finance revolves around impersonal numbers on a spreadsheet which is in conflict with the end result which has a big effect on our personal emotional well being.

This really comes down to what we want from our life experience/happiness quotient and our tolerance for risk vs. stress. So the question comes down to what trade-offs can we accept to accomplish most of if not all of our goals? Tough choices to make.

Pretty bold, quitting a job at this point in time.

Good god… I do not understand how you were able to work rotating shifts like that. I can barely stick to third shift. I can feel what it’s doing to me physically, so do not listen to my advice at all, but that toxic job needed people desperately right? Would it be possible to take a different, hopefully less toxic, roll in the company somehow? The thing that personally gets me through a tough job is just knowing that the whole thing is temporary. I’m just doing this job to work towards complete freedom. And once I get there, not only will I be done with that job, but I will never need to take another job again.
