AFTERBUZZ TV -- Scandal is a weekly "after show" for fans of ABC's Scandal. In this show, host Emile Ennis Jr. breaks down the episode in which a mysterious letter alludes to Huck's sinister past and warns it may be revealed. Meanwhile, Olivia wants Harrison to contain the damage from a coworker's disclosed secret; and Cyrus and Fitz handle the fallout from James' front-page story. the way abby handled the whole situation about olivia not telling what's going on was dirty hell she messed with david because she knew it would affect olivia, and she feels she has to know everything.

I can't even describe how impressed I was with the writers and with Columbus Short during this episode. This episode revealed Harrison's leadership, vulnerability and, strength.I was so glad we got to see his conflicted side.One of the most poignant moments for me in this episode was after Harrison walked out of the room where a group of spies had just pointed there guns at him...and the camera took a close-up of his hands shaking. It was so human and is authentic to how most people would react.

i have to say.. the point you guys made about olivia not being on her chess game with the whole abby and david situation is spot on. i think she didn't think far enough ahead with using the battered old gf to break up abby and david is because she is still dealing with the loss of fitz.. think about it. when cyrus calls her to ask about what he should do about james, olivia still asks cyrus how fitz is doing. in the midst of everything that's happening, it she still needed to know about fitz.

I completely agree with you on Sofia. Her character analysis is in-depth, meticulous and always with a receptive approach. I never felt her judging too quickly. And that is refreshing.
I like them all on the panel. They each bring something different to the table.

and you notice after cyrus replies about how fitz cracks a joke to the queen and she smiles, and how she never smiles, you see olivia visibly relax. the only time during the whole episode she looks like the weight was lifted off her shoulders was when she heard that fitz was ok. i just think that's an important thing to note in this episode.

I think Sofia is EXCEPTIONAL on afterbuzz tv, and I have not heard a condescending comment at all. It used to be a show of only 3 people, but with the new addition, things may get a little congested when it comes to analyzing the show. Each member's analysis compels me to look further at potential reasons and outcomes. This is the reason I watch them. If you want something simple, there are plenty of people on youtube and other articles written that are simplistic, short, and concise.

Agreed. They are all giving their opinions and feedback on what they saw. We don't have to agree with their views but I like they can all discuss the show in an extremely respectful manner.

@SofiaStanley, your final comment about Huck not seeing the shot coming and realizing he can't stay in limbo was BRILLIANT. I'm gonna rewatch the episode just to see that in context again!!

Absolutely agree and it's strange that the hosts didn't see or at least mention this FACT. Also Olivia told Cyrus the same thing in regards "Do whatever you have to do to save his life or protect him"

I agree with Sofia in that Liv truly cares for Huck. She didn't want him to leave her because she felt like all of the people who were important in her life were leaving -- Stephen left her (and it seemed like Stephen was one of the few who knew about her and Fitz), she feels like Fitz is leaving her even though she's sort of pushing him away, and she's scared that Huck will leave her.

I love watching your show, great review!! ! I wanted to comment on Olivia with advising Huck about "Cocaine Girl..." I'm wondering if maybe Olivia has already checked this girl out without Huck's knowledge and may know the girl is ok. I think Olivia is a step ahead more than we think because she had Abby and David found out and bugged and no one knew. Just a thought...

Its part of why I love this show, its written with so many layers and therefore everyne relates differently. I think Olivia represents an archetypal "strong" figure. Wherein people often forget to ask if she is okay and feel comfortable not playing by the rules and then looking to the "strong" figure to fix it. Abby was competely wrong, especially b/c as far as she knew David was still the enemy. Can't wait to see the repercussions.
