I've tried to get sober for about 6 years and have failed every time. I started suboxone and now I'm 2 months off the dope. I'm working a program and feel great. I will probably stay on it a minimum of 1 year and see how I am doing from that point on. Thanks for the video doc.

Hey there Doctor. I have a question for you if you don’t mind. If I was using oxys (100mg/day) and used suboxone for just the first 3-4 days off, will I experience withdrawals yet? Your response would be greatly appreciated!!!

Ive done and been through every single situation you can imagine. If you can do it, do not take Suboxone for an extended period.. if you can deal, do a hard taper within 5 to 7 days after starting Suboxone and get your ass a job! STAT!! That job is what's going to save your life. Power through it every day and within a week or two you'll be feeling tip top. If you just lay around in bed and being lazy you'll incur a lot of problems. If you cannot deal then just take the lowest dose of Suboxone you possibly can and roll with it.

I’ve been on opiates since 2013 and am just now waiting for my pharmacy to call so I can get on this medication. This is long overdue. Thanks for all the info!

What is your experience with relapse after suboxone for women? have you thought of doing an anonymous study? Which factor, which situation cause relapse for women? What are the best tricks, habits to prevent a relapse? I get a new "person" every four weeks to talk to at my suboxone distributor. Because of that, they are not pro active having me taper down, even though i have been on suboxone for almost a continuous 2 years plus the 6 more months ish where i was transitioning from opiates to suboxone. I am grateful to have a legal suboxone distributor in my town, i just wish it was more personal. Thank You for all your help!

Ih man. Dr Park im from Biloxi. Hahah. Moved to ha after Katrina. Im also strong believer the best for those wanting to quit they will know when they are ready but sadly the sub is hard to kick. I'm going to soon be done as I cannot afford to keep taking it. I went from 8mg to 1.5 in 2019. Been stuck at 1.5 to 2mg a day. I take .3 mg 3 times a day to try and take less at once which was now hard to stop. I have to get myslef down to one time a day and then drop more. Doc says I am already basically off since I'm generally under 2mg. Which I beg to differ. Heheh. Smoking cigs and coffee are my next two. Ive become a recluse. Anyway. Thank you for the support on my guitar channel. You are one of very few that know I suppose where my inspiration comes from. Life lessons and dealing best I can. Depression anxiety. The guitar is freeing journey. Thanks for what you do brother.

I think that those who relapsed after tapering off of suboxone were not doing “the work” and weren’t ready to get clean. I think the recommendation should not be to stay on suboxone forever bc that’s not right. My dr. would not help me get off this stuff and I know I complain about this all the time (probably even on your channel) but just bc someone relapsed soon after they taper doesn’t necessarily mean that suboxone and that persons neuropathways is the reason they relapsed. The absence of suboxone in that persons brain doesn’t mean oh yeah let’s put it back and then never help them get off. Of course it will prevent a relapse if you put them back on it long term but let’s weigh out the pros and cons of the quality of life that person has on suboxone. There are other substances we might be craving not just opiates. Anyways this drug is horrible and it’s about time we develop a better one for addicts.

It was vague not helpful at all. How long is a piece of string was the answer and that’s not really a helpful answer.
The aim of going on the suboxone is to get clean without having to do it cold Turkey once the Heroin leaves ur system for example. It’s stupid to carry on taking suboxone for the pure reason that u MIGHT relapse. Well If u relapse it’s not much worse than getting addicted to suboxone.

Conclusion - take it for the LEAST amount of time needed eg a week to two at most and even then it has to be controlled and tapered off towards the last few days.
Rather suffer a month or two of Mild suffering (PAWS) than to just replace one addiction with another sometimes WORSE addiction as I’ve heard many people say getting of suboxone is even Worse than the dope. Best advice as per my personal experience: get detoxed. Take bupe short term to get clean and GO ABROAD in a sunny location and just try to enjoy ur life one - two months is not a long time compared to the years u abused your body - expect some discomfort but be happy that it’s gets better every single day and then ur free forever back to ur life as it was before any substance. the pharmas want you hooked on subs so they give you the BS that is “dangerous” to stop suddenly !! Yeah right!! (Because you MIGHT relapse!! - but they don’t tell you how about when ur addicted to the suboxone - oh that’s ok because it’s not “illegal” 😂)

I'm so scared and tired of life. I was clean for 4 years using suboxone but, unfortunately relapsed. A month ago I tried getting back on suboxone went through precipitated withdrawals . I'm terrified of going through it again. Life is starting to feel hopeless. 😌
