The 9th gen is a year old now and can often be found on sale.
So getting a 9th gen with 256 gb can usually be found cheaper than this new one with 1/4 the storage.
And you can use the first gen pencil without having to buy some stupid adapter so Apple can make another 10 bucks.
Sure, it’s an older design - but its fine and will basically work exactly the same.
I have an iPad mini which has the same chip and there is actually not much speed difference between the two either.
Easy choice I think…..

What I like about my 8th generation is the 128 GB of storage I have. I wish they still offered that option. I plan to keep my 8th generation until it's no longer supported. The battery health is still at 97% so it should still last me for a while.

This was an excellent comparison video, and you are the only person that, I have seen saying the new basic iPad 10th generation took away the headphone jack. After leaving the office yesterday, I ordered on Apple’s USA veterans web site the basic iPad 9th generation to replace my basic iPad 6th generation model. Why? Because, I prefer the vintage design, home button, headphone jack, lighting connector, and my 1st generation pencil and lighting adapters from Apple will all work perfectly with this older model. Also, after trading in my 6th generation model for $80 my total cost without sales tax for this brand new top of the line version with 256GB and the cell data option will only be around $460 (smile…smile).

I was looking to get the 10th gen as I currently have a 6th gen. But with the price hike and what I use it for, it seems the 9th gen is looking a lot more favorable. Simply for web surfing, youtube, netflix, and some gaming, $450 is a lot to ask. Pass.

I recently bought a brand new Ipad 9th at a super price $299 on Amazon.

The improved design, A14 chip and USB-c connection seem like very nice improvements, but for those features they are not enough to think about paying $150 more, which is 50% for the new ipad.

... by the way, the first time I saw it on Amazon it was at $279 and because I was late in making the decision, a couple of days later they had raised the price to $299.

Great comparison! I have an iPad 9th gen, and I absolutely love it! Was thinking about upgrading, but it doesn’t seem worth it. I do like the new camera placement as I use my iPad for a lot of streaming, and the top camera is a little annoying when using in landscape mode. Other than that, there doesn’t seem to be enough of a difference to justify an upgrade.

i love the new camera placement the a14 and usb-c but thats about it. Tbh i find the home button & headphone jack very convenient, also i love the space gray color of ipad 9. The current offers from resellers in m country is 629 euro for the ipad 10 base model.... and the ipad 9 goes for 329 on sale... nuts. I will keep the ipad 9 for many years if this gonna be the apple's sale strategy for the future ....

I’d be glad buying either IPad Pro M1 or Pro M2. I’ll wait to check the prices on M1 in a few weeks. Don’t really see why to get an M2 with the settings they showed yesterday. Cheers.

The apple product that I want to buy in 2022 is the macbook, but the pro version with the m1 pro chip is too expensive in Indonesia, I hope with the macbook pro, I can do my job easier & faster.
