i tried doing this with a usb Wire and a similar led light just like yours and even with using an Ac adaptor f or the usb wire, connecting the + - to the cathode and anode of the led light it still doesnt light up and even with usiing a 7.4 Rechargable lithium battery trhe LEd light doesnt work

i also tried using different led lights and it still doesnt work
any tips you could give?

You put the red one inside and held the black one (ground?) to the side of the end cap so doesn't that make you the ground? I don't wanna sit and hold it, I want it to work as a night light.
