Показать описание
In 1811 and 1812, the New Madrid fault line triggered a series of massive earthquakes that reversed the flow of the Mississippi River and shook the entire nation. These were some of the strongest earthquakes to ever strike the United States. And once again, this seismic time bomb is about to go off! Experts warn that the New Madrid fault line is one of the top earthquake risks in the United States, right up there with the San Andreas and Cascadia faults. If this earthquake occurs today, it will have a devastating impact on the region's millions of people, with entire cities potentially reduced to rubble and countless lives lost or forever changed. Memphis, Saint Louis, and other major metropolises are sitting ducks, completely unprepared for the devastating earthquakes that ravaged the region two centuries ago. The lack of preparedness is astounding, and the clock is ticking. But what is the true scale of the catastrophe if it occurs now? And what can we learn from the devastating 1811 and 1812 earthquakes? Join us as we explore the forgotten history of the New Madrid earthquakes and expert predictions that will have you ready for the worst.--

As someone who has lived in the region all my life, the general public has been fully aware of New Madrid since at least the 1980s. Almost all local governments, from the big cities down to the little towns, do have earthquake plans. And we are trying retrofit as much as we can. Just remember we're talking about tens of thousands of structures spread across several states, often in communities that have to pinch pennies just to supply water and sewer service.
Modern buildings are built to standards that can survive earthquakes. The biggest issue is the massive number of old and historic masonry buildings that are literally everywhere.

Pierce's written account was the first one to reach the newspapers on the East Coast. He mailed it from New Orleans to a friend in Baltimore. It took one year to reach him.

When that bad earthquake hit Oakland decades ago, suddenly everyone in the central USA was made aware that the new Madrid zone was due for a really big quake any time. We had earthquake preparedness PSA’s, and it was all over the news. Then about 5 years ago, geologists said the chances of a quake were decreasing, but it seems the pendulum has swung to the other side again

I live right along the New Madrid fault. We had a tremor back in May, a 3.7, and it’s epicenter was 2 miles from my house

When we think of the Big One we think of our distant Cousins, The Cascadia, San Andreas, Canaveral and Hayward Faults!

February 2023 I was given a vision, not a dream, of a major earthquake in this area that created an inland sea in the Ohio River Valley about the size of one of the Great Lakes. Tavel and commerce on land became impossible. All highways and rail lines were damaged. The economic fallout resulted in a famine for the USA. Timeline was given as late Winter or early Spring 2025. Humbly offered by a seer in Colorado.

Living in the mountains north of Asheville we get minor tremors about every 6 months or so. Most of them are so small we don’t know we had one until the news tells us.

Stick with facts! At 13:26 in the video you said the person writing the letter didn’t experience the fate of millions that lost their lives… millions? Really ? 😂

He is wrong about the small various Earthquakes. Those release pressure if those small quakes didn't happen. Then we should worry. This guy doesn't know what he's talking about

Odd that the recent increase in seismic activity (4:53) apparently is related to a build up of tension, and not a release of built up tension.

The New Madrid doesn’t run that
It starts in Tennessee up to Illinois
There it TURNS across southern Illinois and then under Indiana and it makes its way out to New York
GET IT RIGHT
