I’ve Only Eaten Meat For 12 Months - CARNIVORE

Although my channel isn’t really about Carnivore, health or even food, I felt it was time for me to do a video on my diet choice for the last year as it has benefitted me, and I think it could help others too. For the last 12 months I have pretty much just been eating meat on a Carnivore diet. There are mainly pro’s, but a few cons to this diet so I discuss my Carnivore journey so you can learn from my experience.

I’m a lot older than you, and do a lot of solo 4by travelling. Packing food for solo trips is so easy. All my life have eaten some sort of meat twice a day, (lamb red meat chicken pork bacon)lots of eggs, cheese .Tea coffee without milk and sugar. Don’t touch vegetables because l don’t like them. Minimal carbs. Cook in lard or butter, it’s very healthy for me. Not totally carnivore.
Never needed pills, rarely sick, had flu in 1999. The biggest one, never fell for the convid needle. Went to Covid party’s, still couldn’t get Covid.
If carnivore works for you, keep it going.

Glad to see this on a 4wd channel. I have been on carnivore for 6 months now and the change is amazing. The diet is really a bonus to outdoor adventures because with carnivore diet, I can easily fast for three days plus without much energy level drop. I have tried fasting for 5 days while doing 10km run everyday and I'm pretty confident that I could go for a three day hike in the bush without taking any food. Regarding eating plants, I really agree with what Dr. Robert Cywes said "You eat plants for the flavours, not the nutrients"

Wow just about to jump back in the carnivore wagon after having a 6 month break. Always good to hear about other peoples journeys and was surprised when this popped up in the feed. Good honest breakdown 👍

Glad to hear you are doing well on Carnivore, been doing it myself for just over a year and a half (yes, I still drink some beer and have a morning coffee). I think the current list of improvements I have seen is closing on 21 things, from no more asthma to my gums regrowing, on top of the 20kg weight loss and my Fibromyalgia being in remission. I eat twice a day, usually some steak (or bacon) and 5-6 eggs in the morning which powers me all day, and a small amount of whatever meat we have for dinner. I have trialed a few things over the last few months and found anything grain based now gives real bad stomach cramps followed by a need for a toilet within about half an hour, with nothing much in your digestive tract it does not take long for it to purge what it doesn't like! Root based carbs make me bloat and feel like crap - and makes the Fibro flare up. Any fruit I try now is so full of sugar it makes me feel sick, 1 apple makes me feel like I have just eaten a whole bag of lollies and makes me want to vomit - even a carrot is so full of sugar these days it tastes too sweet to me.
My wife has been carnivore for almost as long as I have and in addition to a lot of weight loss, all her skin problems are gone. She used to scratch till she bled, was always covered in band aids, the doctors had trialed her on everything, including advising acid washes but nothing worked till carnivore, all cured, so yes I can vouch that it works for skin.
I think everyone would benefit from the diet, just that not everyone can do it until they are ready to. I have had a few people ask me about the diet and how to go about it and I advise 3 months as a trial. One month to adapt, take it slow and phase it in else your digestive tract goes haywire. If you only give it a couple of weeks or a month you are going boots-all-in and then giving up during the adaption phase and will not get most of the benefits. Month two is to get over the glucose to ketone adaption phase. The second month many people complain of being fatigued and struggle a bit - this is just the body shifting from burning sugar to burning ketones (from fat), once the switch is made you have energy to burn. It is not till month three that you suddenly realise that this niggling pain is gone, that you are not getting up through the night to go to the toilet anymore, that you can focus all day and do not get that 3pm slump etc. After a year you notice you do not seem to catch that bug everyone seems to be getting, that you no longer get sunburned and that your body shape is changing with muscle growth occurring despite not doing much in the gym, and the six pack starts to get revealed again after many years of requiring insulation to prevent it getting cold. This way of eating is all good and no bad in my opinion.

That's really interesting. I'm 68, been carnivorish since the Australian MotoGP Oct 2019. Was diabetic, 104 kg, thought my life was over. Went low carb the carnivorish. Mostly carnivore now. 80kg, diabetes in remission, feel like I'm 30, run my own garden maintenance business. Fit, flexible and fast. Brain is as sharp as a tack. Like the Low Carb Down Under doctors I follow on YouTube, I realised we were all on the wrong diet, the SAD (Standard Australian Diet) of highly processed grains, sugar and vegetable oils that made us all fat and sick. Eat meat and fry through the day.

I also made the change to carnivore diet 9 months ago. Due for blood work again shortly. Certainly a controversial subject and way of eating.

Hi David, thanks for the video, I didn't know you were on carnivore but it certainly helps many people myself included. I did really like your BBQ revues as I thought I was the only one who considered if your BBQ will not cook your steak correctly it's a waste of money, anyway to that end a Baby Q I have at a holiday place place was useless (not hot enough) the injector in it I guess was .6mm I went to Reece whose smallest drill was 1mm (.8 would of been perfect) it now heats super fast do have to turn it down after putting the steak on to low heat then turn it up to 1/2 heat when turning it over.

Best biltong I’ve had in Oz is from Mufasa Biltong in Perth. Super authentic and top quality!

Everything you describe that was beneficial sounds like your gut health got better.

Bloating cloudy brain joint pain is all related to bad gut health.

Maybe the meat and the few veggies you ate was repairing you gut, a happy side affects (for you) doing the carnivorous diet.

Good job 👍🏼

It's funny how people bag this out, but there have been doctors doing it for five to ten years for long-term studies, and they are extremely healthy compared to The Vegan doctors out there. What are you dying, I have been doing it for 2 years, and I'm in the best shape. What I have been with no joint pain, more energy lost weight

Would be interesting to know your body's PH balance and whether it is more acidic. Around 7.5 is the correct balance of acid and Alkaline. Too acidic can be harmful.

Hi David, do you take vitamins or supplements as well?

Do you eat any cheese or have cream in your coffee?

You Dont need to do an extreme diet like carnivore to see health benefits, cut out millers beer regardless of your diet and you will see benefits. Stick to a diet that's 50% protein, 25% carbs, 25% fats and you will see the same benefits. But bigger fuller muscles.
