TMG has been studied for many potential health benefits, including the ability to enhance heart health, boost athletic performance, promote healthy insulin levels, and protect against depression. However, as with many supplements, it may also cause some side effects, especially if used in high doses. TMG is a compound that consists of glycine with three attached methyl groups, hence the name tri-methyl-glycine. As I said it is produced naturally by your body and can be found in certain foods. It’s also available as a supplement and is regularly used to enhance athletic performance and improve heart and liver health. TMG is involved in a chemical process called methylation, which is essential for DNA production. TMG supplements have been associated with several health benefits. It may lower homocysteine levels to improve heart health
Some research shows that TMG could decrease blood levels of homocysteine, a type of amino acid that is found in your blood. Too high a level of this compound can increase your risk of heart disease.
A 2013 review of 5 studies showed that taking at least 4 grams of TMG per day for 6 weeks could lower blood levels of homocysteine in healthy adults. Another review had similar findings, noting that taking 4 grams of TMG per day lowered homocysteine levels without negatively impacting other aspects of heart health, like blood pressure or triglyceride levels.

I tried 6 brands of TMG for methylation support & NONE of them worked for me !
Then I tried plain free form Glycine & voila!! What an amazing therapeutic impact w.r.t relaxation, brain fog, sleep quality.... from plain free form Glycine.
I have 3gm of Glycine per day in addition to active forms of B6 - P5P, Folate - 5MTHF and methyl to balance Niacin, Niacinamide, Nicotinic acid all of which are methyl group acceptors.

I also have essential aminos, taurine, carnitine, tyrosine & Glycine is the king of aminos that rules !!

I was not able to do even one pull-up at 16 stone body weight. Then after one week of taking 6 grams of TMG a day and hap hassently taking one random teaspoon of creatine the night before attempting it again. I tried again and I could just about do one pull-up. 🎉 I had not been training or anything in the lead-up as I'm completely sedentary. I could just do it out of the blue. 😮 I haven't been able to do a pull-up since I was 17.

I upped my TMG from 1g to 4g and found that although it did not make me tired, from day 1 I slept very deeply and experienced more dreams, and woke up with a very strong appetite. Now that my pull-up bar has arrived I should soon have an idea on whether it affects my workout performance as well. I very much expect it will, since it’s hard to imagine that the increased need for food and sleep is not related to an increased production of energy.

I take most of the same supplements as do except for Metformin. Currently at 2 grams per day for TMG to supplement the methyl groups while taking 2 grams of NMN, both from Do Not Age. And I like the new name.

I'm right with you: 1.5g. Seems appropriate for restoring Methyl Group loss at 68 y/o. I'll wait on better research before increasing that dosage. Thanks for the informative video.

Thanks Vince, very informative as usual! I've been taking just 500mg of TMG per day for the past 12 months now and have just added Creatine to my stack. Hopefully the synergistic effects will be of great benefit. I have no side effects. My current full supplement stack is NMN, TMG, Berberine, Creatine, Taurine and Cod Liver Oil.

Huge thanks for this video. Was looking for some info and didnt find a great deal. My TMG just arrived. I started with 1g per day for now, as i take 1g of NMN. But thinking of increasing the TMG dose to 2 grams.

2nd day of TMG sugars have droppedxto 90, its been running to 400 for a year this is incredible. I also strated infrared Pad for 2 days for 12 minutes this dropped my sugar by 40 points its incredible.

So is the only advantage to taking TMG as opposed to just Glycine the addition of methyl? Does the methyl in TMG do anything other than provide methyl to people who want to supplement with it. Does it provide any additional value like improving the effectiveness of glycine?
