You can solve this question easily. Replace the equal sign with a Tilde, like this

— > a/b + a ~ 6

Then you get the value of A and B.

Desmos will then know what the value of A and B is going forward, so all you have to do is type in the other equation and it’ll just give you the answer. Which would be 2.

No way I'm actually solving these problems in less than a minute in my head.

I solved for the first equation, only solution was 4 for an and 2 for b, then solve.

I wish this was on my SATS in year 6, it looks so easy ngl

= ignore the root for now
a/b + a-2 = 4, so sqrt(4) = 2
SO A

I solved it like this :
By substitution method --
You can write ab = 6b - a

Then put this value of ab in below equation
Root under a + 6b - a - 2b

b

You get √4 = +2
-2

Well, there is a much simpler answer. Since the result does given on the qcm do not depend of a and b, you can find a couple (a, b) thats satsifies the equation, and then evaluate the expression in the root with these particular value. Let says we have b = 1, a = 3, the we get the value we are looking for is srt( (3+3*1-2)/1) = sqrt(4) = 2. But you could as well for example take a = b = 5

I can only imaging how the people who are studying for the JEE are reacting to this problem 😂

I solved it like this:
Simply a/b+a=6 to be (ab+a)/b=6.
In the square root, there is an “a+ab/b” term, which is just 6 as we said.
So, it is simplified to √6-2b/b. The b terms cancel out, so it it just √6-2, or √4 which is 2.

I just multiplied a/b+a=6 by b, so I got a+ab=6. √a+ab-2b/b and since we have the value of a+ab which is 6 we can substitute it and got √6-2b/b. Now we need to get the value of b which is equal to 6-a/a(because I simplified the given equation into a+ab=6). Now we can substitute with the value of b √6-2(6-a/a)/(6-a/a) we'll cancel out 6-a/a with each other the remaining will be √6-2 which is √4 which is 2.

fact that both 4 and its root 2 are in here tells me that the answer is to but i was solving this for 3 minutes and finally got it right

The first two terms = 6 and 2b/b=2
Sqrt(6-2)=Sqrt(4)=2

a = 6b - ab
6b - ab + ab - 2b
sqrt of 4b/b
sqrt(4)
2

a/b+a = 6
a/b+ab/b= 6
(a+ab) /b = 6

2^√(a+ab-2b)/b
= 2^√(a+ab)/b-2b/b
= 2^√(6-2)
= 2^√4
= 2

Bro somehow she actually gave the simplest way and the comments are trying to in one up her with extra steps..

just divide by B, substitute, then sovle.

a/b+a=6 means a = 3 and b =1 and then js substitute

My special kind of dumb is solving the substitutions and then forgetting the radical so I impulsively answer "D".
