Top 3 Tywin blunders : 1) Treating Tyrion like trash when he could have been his best asset, 2) Thinking Petyr Baelish to be loyal to the Lannister cause, and 3) Consider Mance Rayder a viable ally and potential partner to rule the North, all while weakening the Night Watch by placing Janos Slynt at its head

Little finger tricked them into a war with just a letter

Funny enough, LF is the most dangerous person in the whole of Westeros, Varys have plans yes but LF thrives from unseen chaos.

That’s why Baelish was such an amazing player of the game of thrones. Nobody saw him coming.

You know guys, in hindsight, I’m starting to think Tywin was not quite as smart as I thought. He was constantly underestimating people: Balish who undermined his family numerous times, Robb Stark who defeated his army in battle despite being green, Daenerys and her Dragons, and his youngest son that killed him in the privy.

Little finger is definitely the son of Darth Sidious and brother of Erebus

Littlefinger in the books is so interesting & likable. They hate on him so much but he is so useful & sneaky & intelligent you can't help but love his "villainy" 😂

Littlefinger having a lowborn status benefits him so much I don’t even think he realizes it. He tries so hard to get away from it. Also if cat was willing to if she manipulated Baelish he would burn the world down for her. But she wasn’t like that. She should’ve pretended atleast but she looked down on him and was angry.

Varys was right in saying LF is the most dangerous man in Westeros. Dude started a war with a letter, manipulated the Lannister’s into keeping Sansa so Varys couldn’t use her against them, had Tyrion framed for the murder of the king, just so he could get Sansa back and out of the capital, and brokered a destabilizing alliance between the Lannisters and Tyrell’s, which solved one issue by creating 10 more for the Lannisters.

He ran rings around Tywin and even up to his death Tywin was very little idea of LF’s real game.

The biggest issue the show made from the jump was 180’ing everyone’s relationship with Littlefinger. The whole “anyone who trusts Littlefinger is a fool” dismantles how Littlefinger would be able to achieve his position. In the books, he’s just seen as this lowborn, no fighting skill, friendly guy who’s always willing to do a favor. Everyone trusts Littlefinger because of their archaic beliefs that being highborn and a good warrior is needed to make someone dangerous.

Tywin was at least right about LF's hold on the Vale. The lords hate him and plotting to get rid of him. So in a way he's right that LF would need help from the Crown. He just underestimated how the small Fingers native is capable of fending for himself.

The omission of Willas from the show created a huge plot hole.

I always assumed it was because Tywin had always dealt with greed/those motivated by wealth - and he assumed that’s was Little Fingers motivation.

Most of the people commenting on Littlefinger being a mastermind in The Game don't really understand what true power means: legitimacy. It's something Tywin understood very well. If we're making a real comparison, Littlefinger never came as close to the Throne as Tywin did; he practically took the Crown for his family. I have a deep suspicion that Tywin was aware of his children's incestuous relationship more than people realize. The Baratheons were practically extinct by then, only their name remained. How long would it have taken for the Baratheon name to stop mattering without someone there to defend it? Tywin probably had plans... That's how dynasties are built, with a person like Tywin thinking about the future of his family, even after he and his children were dead. Of course, Tywin could never reveal the incestuous nature of his children due to public opinion, but the idea of having a king of 100% Lannister blood did not have to be so terrible for him, of course this is just an assumption. On the other hand, Littlefinger understood power, but he lacked legitimacy, which in practice makes his power unenduring. If someone of average extraction like Littlefinger can seize the throne, what could prevent others like him from wresting it from his hands? Even the Baratheons, when they rebelled against the Targaryens, were already an ancient and proud family. Perhaps Littlefinger is a character who allows readers like us to fantasize about power, but his blood was never noble enough to qualify for royalty. Sadly, the people in the comments are confused and unconsciously overestimate Littlefinger's capabilities in order not to feel the weight of their own irrelevance in the Great Game. But for people with a keen awareness of how things work, such a fact isn't devastating; after all, as Tyrion said: "Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you."

I did not know this, but I do know that Littlefinger is a man who wants something and that can be easily controlled and manipulated.

I think Tywin was right about LF being the Lord of the Vale.

He's manipulative but he would have a hard time controlling the Vale Bannermen.

"He has neither high birth nor skill at arms". I bet they used to say the same about Henry Tudor.
