Cleaning Tips - How to Clean Windows

Learn how to clean windows like a pro! I'm Big Jim and have been cleaning windows professionally in Orange County, CA for over 30 years. Check out a few simple tips and tricks that I have learned over the years on how to clean a window.

Tips and Tricks:
1) Use cold water
2) Use Dawn soap. I have found Dawn just works the best in cutting through grease and finger prints
3) Use a professional squeegee with replaceable squeegee blades
4) Make sure your squeegee blade doesn't have nicks or rounded corners. When the squeegee blade gets rounded edges, use a razor blade to cut the ends off to be straight.
5) Water runs uphill on a squeegee. Keep the uphill side of the squeegee towards the soapy side of the window
6) Start the squeegee blade on dry glass. Use a clean dry towel around the frame for a clean take off
7) Have two towels. One slop towel and one clean towel
8) Try not to wipe clean glass with a towel. Soap residue on the towel will be left on the window and noticeable the next day when light shines through the window
