The Truth about Baking Soda and Vinegar #ProCleaningTip #shorts

The truth about baking soda and vinegar is that they cancel each other out. Baking soda is an 8-9 on the pH scale, making it an alkaline cleaner. Vinegar, on the other hand, is a 2-3 on the pH scale, and it is an acid. Mixing them together does create a fun, fizzy reaction, but the baking soda neutralizes the vinegar making it less effective than if used by itself. Yes, you can use baking soda to clean, and yes, you can use vinegar to clean, just don't mix them and use them at the same time.

They both work for stains but separately. You don't have to mix them but baking soda can lift STAINS and vinegar STERILIZES and they are both natural not harmful chemicals.

I found the "fizzing action" is what helps in some circumstances. For example, cleaning a glass stovetop after one of my kids had a cooking mishap. I didn't have proper cleaner on hand. I dampened everything, roughed in baking soda and sprayed on vinegar. The chemical reaction loosened debris and reduced scrubbing.

My grandfather used to mix the both to removed rust from his cast iron pot

The combination of the two with the fizzing action is what cleans my sink and tub drains throughout the house as well as the dishwasher. It also unclog drains

It works on pans that have burnt food or gravy stuck

The fizzy is oxidation. Which helps to lift or loosen the stain or grime. Vinager neutralizes odors and baking soda acts as a abrasive to get in cracks and crevices. Youre welcome

It works amazing at cleaning drains. If you put baking soda down the drain followed by vinegar and then boiling water, your drains will be sparkly clean. 😊

That's interesting because that's all I see on youtube for grease off walls. I went to my clients house, and nothing worked for cleaning the grease off the walls, so we made these solutions following someone's youtube video, and it worked like magic

Purchased one of the top selling pet urine cleaner and smell remover on Amazon. Hit the spot multiple times over a week period letting it dry in between. Each time, the black light still showed urine on the carpet. Purchased 30% vinegar and diluted it to 2/1 with water. Sprayed it heavily on the carpet and put baking soda on top. Covered the area with plastic for a day and then vacuumed. Result: no more smell and black light shows NO TRACES of urine. I’m not sure your theory holds true for every situation….

Great for detoxing black hair. Great for dandruff and cutting grease on natural hair. Also for bad odor on hair.

My dad was a plumber. He told me to use baking soda and vinegar in the bathroom sink and bathroom tub not the toilet. He said, add in once a month let it set for an hour or so and run super hot water since I followed his advice, I never get any clogged drains

Actually I scrub in the baking soda and then add vinegar, watch the show, scrub a little more, then let it soak & rinse! My son's shoe insoles sure get neutralized as well 😁

easily disproven. i scrolled down and saw an actual cleaning video and someone cleaned a sink drain pipe with it. the video clearly shows gunk being broken off when pouring baking soda then vinegar on the drain. Theres many phenomena that occur besides the baking soda neutralizing the acid, the formation of a gas in the confined volume of a pipe creates alot of mechanical force via air pressure increase from carbon dioxide formation, an acidic gas. Not all the substances fully mix or fully react immediately, there are chemical kinetics at play. Vinegar is reaching them unreacted and also carrying unreacted baking soda into the pipe, where it reacts witht he gunk and fizzes further down than where it was poured. granules mixed into acid can also be a coarse mixture

Water does the same thing, but isn’t as fun to watch. People tend to forget that most of the caked-in dirt just needs to be “pre-soaked”; leave it wet for a few minutes and all that loosens right up. Wipe off the dirty water, then chase the germs with a germ murderer, let that sit for 5-10 minutes, and wipe up the deceased germs.

So it appears that the baking soda and vinegar are cleaning, but they are just pre-soaking like water.
