Most adults who are considering braces want to know one thing: How Long is it Going to Take?

While each situation is different, there are some general estimates for adult braces treatment length that we’re going to discuss in this video that will hopefully give you a good idea for what to expect.

Anybody who’s recently gotten their retainer, PLEASE stick with it. I say that as someone who had braces for 5 years in my youth, and due to underlying health issues, stopped wearing the retainer for a time, and lost a bit of the progress the braces did. Due to being self-conscious and a bit embarrassed now, I’m reconsidering braces at 23 😔 Wearing that retainer will definitely improve the longevity of your smile, and you owe that to yourself. Don’t make the mistake I did!

I'm 27 and never had orthodontic treatment. My dentist referred my case as "moderate" when I had my cleaning and I was inquiring about orthodontist to close my diastema (front gap) and some alignment/tooth rotation on my bottom teeth. No bite issues. At my consultation my orthodontist gave me an estimate of 8-10 months (LOL!) but my treatment did not end until almost 17 months (1 yr and 5 months). It's not 100% but I'm happy with my gap being closed. That was my biggest concern.

Is it possible the jaws to become symmetrical with braces in adults after their 30s? Even if you correct the bite will the front teeth be symmetrically positioned in the jaws
