You don't need to get Your teeth extracted.
I had braces with a rubber band around the back of my head to avoid my teeth getting extracted.
It hurt so much I had to scream for two years - but I don't regret it. I have the most perfect teeth a person ever had.

This helped me a lot, my orthodontist told me that I need braces but I still have a milk tooth in one side (without the permanent under it) so she has to remove it and thanks to that, I will not need any permanent tooth to be removed.

I had too many teeth with a class 3 open bite/cross bite. I never had my wisdom teeth extracted as a kid and my parents just didn't find it necessary to invest in orthodontic treatment which resulted in my wisdom teeth fully erupting and pushing my jaw forward. Not by a super noticeable amount to the average eye, but it did affect my speech and limited my ability to tear food. additionally, my bite would rest on the back teeth creating an anterior open bite and cross bite.
in order to correct that to class 1, all my wisdom teeth had to be extracted and use of a motion appliance was prescribed to create space on the bottom teeth so they could be pulled back to create class 1 alignment.
they have since removed the motion appliance and removing the wisdom teeth decreased the time i would wear it; I was then fitted for full damon braces with elastic wear so they could maintain the class 1 bite while working on the open bite and use the wire changes to aid in palatal expansion, but towards the end it might require some aid with box elastics on the sides for detailing.

I did this because jaw surgery really wasn't and still isn't an option monetarily. My profile was considered good that jaw surgery didn't have to be done.

I would def recommend if an ortho recommends extractions for overcrowding that is messing up a bite take the advice seriously. Trying to only do braces and elastics will only extend treatment time and you may likely have to end up getting those extractions deep into treatment because the orthodontist can only do so much with the amount of room they have or worse, you'll be out of braces and be more prone to relapse.

I just got 6 teeth removed right now 2 wisdom teeth and 4 premolars I had 33 teeth. The numbing needles hurt not the extraction.

Age 20s, I have been undergoing orthodontic treatment since last 13 months. Have four lower crooked teeth. At the beginning of the treatment, after a couple of months, the dentist extracted one incisor tooth, and after 7 to 8 months (present), one incisor tooth suffered bone loss, and the dentist is suggesting I go ahead with the second incisor tooth extraction because expansion is not happening. I am not sure about this.

Hi, doctor told me that I need to either get my lower jaw pushed forward or have 2 teeth removed to make space for braces, pushing my front together. I don’t have any bite issues; he says the procedure would be basically purely cosmetic. I don’t want to go with the first option because I don’t want to change my face (I look horrible with my jaw pushed forward.)
My question is: is the extraction option worth it? I am not overly bothered by my pushed forward front teeth although I just have to pay attention to smile less. I would quite like personally to have braces though. Does anyone know if extracting 2 teeth leads to future complications?? Will it change my looks; potential for the worse? Thanks!!

I lost 2 of my lower molar teeth left and right. My treatment plan is to close the gaps through braces. However, they also need to remove two perfectly healthy upper molar teeth. If I didn't follow the recommendation because I can't do extraction, what are my consequences if I left the space with missing teeth untreated? Hope you can answer. 🙏🥺

How painful is it to get 2 healthy teeth removed? Seems so extreme.

What do you think about situation when I don’t have 2nd premolars on the right side (up and down), but I have them on the other side?

They never erupted and I wanted to get rid of that asymmetry😢 is it a good idea to remove 2nd premolar teeth on the other side?
