A question more specific to young (9-12U, 50-60 MPH pitches) - if you mirror the pitcher so that when the pitcher strides the leg and lands the front foot, and the batter lands the foot about same time, then batter will be waiting (with the foot down) for the pitchers' arm to come around and throw and then the ball to travel. Wouldn't the batter be waiting at static position too long? What is the ideal time that the batter's front foot land (as the ball is leaving the pitchers hand? 1/2 (or 1/4) of the way to the plate?

This method would have my son a little out in front in 12u travel ball. Normally, starting the load around the time his arm comes up to throw would have him on time more often than not. Thanks for the vid coach

I’ve had success getting my hitters to think of it as losing slowly into a coil. You can start when the pitcher does just don’t take that momentum forward too early. When they bring the leg up and begin to move towards the mound then slowly begin your coil and then unload.
