GREEK MYTHOLOGY: HADES TOUR OF THE UNDERWORLD

Greek Gods
Hades, son of Chronos and brother to Zeus, now takes his place as the ruler of the underworld, the lands of the dead.

But Did you know that in Greek Mythology there was reincarnation? That there were many places in the lands named after their king, Hades? Watch to find out!

Living Mythology is an attempt to entertain, relax and educate all in the one place. We are trying to forge narratives so that people can experience the religions and mythologies of the world as they were meant to be. Not as dry academic monoliths, but as living breathing tales and parables as experienced by the peoples who worshipped these beings, in an attempt to make sense of their own lives and the world around them.

This channel is in its infancy, so we hope to improve and develop it as we gain more experience.

All of the tales are taken from very conflicting traditions across many centuries, so there will be many a moment when decisions need to be made to create a more cohesive narrative. If we present something that seems to be in contrast to details, rest assured we have researched many forms of the traditions and come to the conclusions we have done to form the videos.
There will NEVER be total agreement on any of these narratives due to the history and differing ways they developed over the centuries.
These videos are for entertainment and an easy gateway to the subject. If you wish more academic details then please direct your attention to the wide source material and others who perform those types of academic video essays.

Hades, Hades, Hades... how few truly grasp how he was the smartest brother. Thanks Team Living Mythology for illustrating that brilliantly.

Styx: And everything is Osha-compliant, my Lord
Hades: Styx, I should marry you, but the Meta requires you to stay a river.

Out of the three brothers, Hades had the potential to be the most benevolent ruler of the universe. He is willing to not just lead the most difficult kingdom out of the three, but he is willing to lead from the front with compassion and a perspective the other gods, save maybe prometheus, completely lack. It is a shame that he did not take Olympus.

Hades is definitely my favorite of the 3 Brothers Kings. The smartest and kindest and possibly the best the gods could offer.

Hades has always been the greatest of the gods, and your glorious retelling of his story warms my heart. Thank you.

in all the world of storytelling and narration, can you make the Underworld seem so amazing. Hades is not the brooding temper tantrum incarnate that we have seen countless times. The afterlife has fairness and beauty.
Simply amazing.
The script is second to none. The narration is impeccable as always.
In my increasing busy life, this is an immersive portal to a moment of just enjoying listening to talented people capturing the magic of a long forgotten era.
Simply amazing Light and Baldy.

I love that you portray Hades as perhaps the most responsible of the three. the one that takes his responsibilities seriously. He is Mighty and his realm Vast. I like that he is, in a very real way, Noble in bearing as well as in task. Too often is Hades portrayed as cruel and Miserly. Too often he is portrayed as the kidnapper of a daughter from her overbearing mother. Too often is he seen as a tyrant.

Given myths exist all over of Hades showing clemency, of bending the rules... justa little just enough to make that inevetable transition bearable. It is good to see him portrayed in a more fair light.

Thank you.

I love this tale - Hades has always been a god who is grossly misunderstood. Rulership of the underworld was fated him, he obeyed and yet there is always more to his character than his reputation portrays

My full complements to @LivingMythology this was an eye opening revelation behind the story for the Zeus of the underworld - Hopefully a similar story to f honour, leniency and reason will be shed in the tale of how Hades had married Persephone

I never thought I would say that the tour of the underworld was quite warm and welcoming. I loved Hades in this telling, I watched this video multiple times, absolutely loved when Hades was being introduced to his court. Poseidon really gets the short end of the stick in terms of personality 😅. Love your videos, thank you again Lord and Lady, can’t wait for the next video

One of the best characterizations of Hades. Unlike many interpretations of him as a villain, this video demonstrates him as a just but fair God with a strong sense of justice, as he is portrayed in the ancient myths. You just earned a subscriber!

Thanks again Baldermort and Lady Lightbringer for more of your work. Hades is the one Olympian God who never seems to get the spotlight like Zeus so it's great to hear more of his background story in his kingdom. I look forward to more of your work and as ever Greetings from Kilkenny, R.O.I 🇮🇪

Amazing video Baldermort and Lightbringer. I've always felt Hades was underestimated and misjudged as a God.
