Spot on, Miss Faye! Once you start giving, they start expecting. I used to put out a bowl and spoon for my husband's oatmeal before he'd go to work. He came home one day and said, "There was something I wanted to tell you. I meant to remember....oh yeah, do you know what you forgot this morning?" I thought and thought, could it be I forgot to mail something out? Did I forget to take the key out of the door last night? I finally gave up and he said, "You forgot to put my spoon out for my oatmeal." I looked at him and said, "You made a mental note to remember to tell me this? I'm sorry, did you have to take 3 steps over to the silverware drawer to get your own spoon?" He just looked at me with a blank stare. I told him he was ridiculous and I never again put out a bowl or spoon for him again....then when I quit doing it, he had the nerve to say it was all my fault because I spoiled him. Do yourself a favor and don't create a monster.

She is so right about contacting a man after he pulls away. I can laugh about it now. However, I had a guy all of a sudden pull away and give me the silent treatment. As soon as I called him and we talked for a bit he asked DO YOU MISS ME, AND WHEN CAN I GET TO SPEND THE NIGHT AND SOME BREAKFAST? 😂😂 The ball was in his court... OR SO HE THOUGHT. I reconnected with someone I liked from school several months ago. Despite the conversation initially flowing he stopped engaging...

I did try again to speak with them, but then I sat with self, reflected, and accepted that if he was interested, he would engage...I let it go ❤

Don't cook or clean for a man, never give him sex or money. Don't live with him. Keep him out of your home and car. Never believe what they say and if he needs a ride home from the hospital tell him he has to cash app you gas money first and don't go until he does. Don't give men gifts, birthday cakes, compliments, and limit your response to his text with one or two words only. Love yourself and your children and you'll be supported.

Thank you so much beautiful Ms. Faye for enlightening us to the way men think when we give too much too soon, and encouraging us to put ourselves first, both literally (by not buying little things, and by being celibate) and emotionally. I also really love how you and other subscribers remind women of the benefits of being alone, and how there is a difference between being alone and lonely. I work out at a gym where while there is a fun, family atmosphere, only women of a certain complexion and hair texture are treated as beautiful women, you see the “pretty privilege, ” and single women are seen as needing a man.
