Completely agree with GW2, I’ve been playing it so much the past few months and it’s so refreshing to just pay for the expansions and thats it. Also there’s so much variety and the world looks incredible.

I had a feeling that Guild Wars 2 would be in first place.

GW2 was the first MMO I really got into because of the large free trial and buy 2 play model

Hey Josh, I discovered your content recently and have been going through some hard times. Just wanted to say that your content is keeping me sane right now and I really appreciate your work. Love the worst mmo ever series and I'm super excited to see new content on your channel all the time. Thank you man, you've done more for me than you probably care to know lol.

As someone who has played Guild Wars 2 since the beta, I am so incredibly proud of my home game and what it can bring to people for so little monetary cost. The community tends to be one of the nicer ones in most MMOs I've played, too. Come on over to GW2 y'all, there's enough Tyria for everyone and we'd love to have you there!! ♥

GW2 is my stand by game. especially since I got my wife into it and we can play through it easily as a couple.

After years, I came back to GW2 and absolutely love it. This time around, it feels even more fun than ever before. Even without considering the financial aspect, it's unique and a fresh breeze for anyone coming from traditional tab-targeting MMORPGs.

Guild Wars 2 fanboi here, the great thing is that the expansions add more layers to the lasagna that is Gw2, so is more to enjoy. Also no gear grind where you MUST get top stats. Heck, you can even do raid if you got the expansions with core basic classes and gear*

It’s true, no one every quits RS. We only take really long breaks.

I should add a note as a GW2 player. The interim content (between the expansions) is named Living World and you can get it for free if you logged in a certain time frame, usually about 3 months, but the note here is that if you did not logged during this time you need to buy the new chapter which gives you access to new maps and the main story content. The chapter are bought with gems which is the premium currency, and it can be converted from in-game gold but it can be expansive/hard to get the gold for a new player.

I still think GW@ is really worth it's cost but I thought this should be mentioned aswell

I knew GW2 would make the list and glad it did. P2P MMOs tend to make me feel like im not getting my moneys worth if I'm not playing it but I always feel like I am in GW2.

The two-for-one deal with subscription is what made me expect RuneScape to be high on this list. I got back into the game this year, when OSRS launched on Steam, and so far I’ve put over 300 hours into each version with the $30 I spent on the 3-month membership deal. And now I can more than easily afford the 5 million to pay for a bond every two weeks.

What’s also great about that system is that you can store your membership in anticipation of taking a break from the game. When you’re ready to leave, you can just buy one bond, store it in the bonds pouch, and have it ready to redeem at anytime. Whether you’re gone for a few weeks, months, or even years, you’ll be able to jump right back into the game as a member instantly.

Hard agree on GW2. Great experience to play, I even started GW1, which is also pretty great

The best thing for ESO if you want to completely skip the subscription is to make sure to play the few times a year they give everyone ESO plus for free. You can hop into DLCs you couldn't finish and it's a great time to stock up and fill up that item bag because once that time ends, you cannot put things into the bag anymore, but, anything in there, stays in there, it isn't like it suddenly hits your inventory. It's also a good time to dye costumes for free and squeeze a few more things into your house.

Recently started to play ESO and it's so fucking amazing, all voice acted and great value.

I was half expecting the top two to be Rune Scape 3 and Old School Rune Scape lol

Guild Wars 2. Love it or hate it, you can't get more MMORPG for that price. It is insane value!
Love your content btw :)

I feel like Star Wars: The Old Republic would fit well in this list. You can play the entire original game for free (including 8 individual classes with full class storylines that are BioWare quality stories) and if you subscribe for even a month, you own all DLC that was released before your sub ended. You can play the game without ever needing to sub for more than one month a year just to get the DLC. The only major restrictions are limiting how many dungeon loot rolls you can get a week, and no raids unless you're subscribed. And given that the focus on the game is more on the story, it's really only limiting you on the high-level endgame.
